It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mike Matanda Wasike which occurred on 22nd January 2018 in Des Moines, Iowa-USA following a carjacking incident in 2013.

Son of the late Festus Wasike Nalyanya and Mama Susan Khanali Wasike. Husband of Joan Namachemo. Father of Sandra Matanda and Melvin Matanda. Brother of John, Elizabeth, Nalyanya, Francis, Grace, Nancy, Situma, George, Alex, Rose, Fidel, Mary, the late Max, Oliver,Milka, Singoro and Mmasi. Cousin of the Matandas’, Murungas’, Wanjalas’, Wanyamas’, Ngomes’, Holis’, Lichumas’, Fwambas’, Sakwas’ and many others. Nephew, in-law, uncle and friend of many. Son-in-law of Renson Namachemo. Brother in-law of Joy, Jared, Noah and the Otidos’.

There will be a funeral service on Wednesday 21st February at Friends Church, Ngong Road from 12 noon.

Burial will be on Saturday 24th February 2018, at LLukhokho village, Lwandeti Location, Kakamega County.
