It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mama Monica Aloo Rapando, which occurred on 22nd February, 2021.

Daughter of the late Mr. Peter Obonyo and the late Mama Rosa Ajwang. Daughter in-law to the late Cosmas Tabuche and the late Anne Auma. Lovely wife to Pascal Rapando and co-wife to the late Philis Aburili, Christine Lupalo Rapando and Rita Amakobe Rapando. Mother of Josephine Nakhabi Ekasiba, Merceline Akotsi Juma, Patrick Oluoch Rapando, Mathew Obonyo Rapando, David Barasa Rapando, the late Lydia Aloo, Joanice Anyango Rapando, Richard Bunyasi Rapando, Wilbroda Murai Rapando. Step-mother of Peter Makana Rapando, Hamphrey Aloo Rapando, Richard Tabuche Rapando, among others. Mother-in-law to the late Faustine Ekasiba, Boniface Nyongesa, Sarah Oluoch, Praxides Obonyo, Mediatrix Barasa, Ascar Bunyasi, among others.

Sister of the late Mary Adhiambo Nanjira, the late Lawrence Mukati Obonyo, Elizabeth Akumu Othieno, and the late Rapheal Okinda Obonyo. Sister-in-law of the late Sabina Akwirl, Laura Otsieno, Emmanuel Oduor, the late Adikinyi, Annastansia, Atsieno, the late Achieng, Moses Tabuche, Sophy Barasa, Nicholas Tabuche Elizabeth Situma, AlphonseTabuche, Patrick Nyongesa, Herbert Asika, Peter Makana, Chrispinus Aluma, Magdalene Adhiambo, enifer Lunani Okinda, among others.

Great-grandmother of over 30 grandchildren. The cortege leaves Tanaka Nursing, on 5th of March, 2021, for a requiem mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church Segero. Burial will be held on 6th March, 2021 at Segero C Village Nambale Township Ward, Nambale Sub-county, Busia County.
