It is with deep sorrow that we announce the demise of Mzee Daniel Ogembo Ochieng’, that occurred on 30th October, 2022 at Ringa Kojwach – Homabay County.

The eldest son of the late Mzee Joel Ochieng Ogado and the late Mama Rusalia Ombuwa Ochieng of Ringa Kojwach – Homa Bay County. Son-in-law of the late Mzee Samuel Oyieke, the late Mama Julia Muga Oyieke, the late Mama Filkista Oyieke and, the late Mama Susana Oyieke.

Loving husband to the late mama Sarah Oswago Ogembo. Devoted father of Erick Ogembo, Cephas Ogembo, Lorna Onyango, Dr. Jane Ogembo, the late John Ogembo, Lillian Ogembo, Mary Ogembo, Kenneth Ogembo, Ruth Agwanda, Roseline Ogembo, Beatrice Ogembo, the late Davis Ogembo and Patrick Ogembo.

Grandfather to Dr. Carol, Franklin, Julia, Samuel, Eva, Vivian, Beatrice, Anita, Dilly, Collins, Christabel, Larry, Cynthia, Jackline, Christine, Okidi, Herbert, Kenneth, Dr. Laura, Dr. Lee, Loreen,Teddy, Joseph, Nadia, Malek and Zeline. Great-grandfather to Mariya among others.

Father-in-law of Dennis Were, Eng. Joseph Oyugi, John Agwanda, Mary Onyango, Linet Onyango, Pauline Otieno, Evelyne Oluoch and Monica Ouma.

Brother of Rebeca Omulo, Zakaria Omollo, the late Ezekiel Abuya, Elijah Matibe, the late Jael Matoke, Jonathan Odera, the late Elly Ogweyo,Yusuf Ogado, Benjamin Okeyo, Helena Obuya, Joan Akinyi, among others.

Brother-in-law to Prisca Omollo, Norah Abuya, Eunice Matibe, Ezekiel Oyieke,Tom Oyieke, Joel Oyieke, Daniel Oketch, Elly Matoke, Diana Opondo, the late Esther Ayayo, Elizabeth Amayo, Salome Onyimbo, the late Perez Owuor, Prof. Ann Obondo, Rodah Orengo, Jane Ogango, Moses Oyieke, among others.

Uncle to Dennis Abuya, Ann Matoke, Milton Obote, Arnold Opere, Obote Orwe and many other nieces and nephews.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary – Kisumu on Thursday 24th November, 2022, for his final resting place at Ringa-Kojwach – Homabay County.

Burial will be on Friday, 25th November, 2022.
