We the family of Mwalimu Geoffrey Kigotho Gakuru humbly announce the passing on of loving Dad Mwalimu Geoffrey Kigotho Gakuru who went to be with the Lord on 4th January 2020 at Mathari Hospital in Nyeri after a short illness.

Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gakuru Gaitho. Husband of the Late Grace Wanjiku Kigotho. Father of Dr. Augustus Gakuru Kigotho and Susan Wamunyu Gakuru, Col. (Rtd.) Nathan Macharia Kigotho and Rose Macharia, Dr. Mutuota Kigotho and Njoki Mutuota, Samuel Maina-and Irene Maina, (WO 1) Joshua Wokabi and Jane Wokabi, Jane Wanjiru Kigotho, Rev. Bernard Mwangi and Evangerine Mwangi (Kinantop), George Kamunyu Kigotho and Margaret Wangui Kamunyu.

Brother of the late Wilfred Maina Gakuru, the late Peter Kanogu Gakuru and the late Wokabi Gakuru, all from Mairoini village.

Brother-in-law of the late Gerald Mutuota Macharia & Eunice Muthoni Mutuota, Gladys Njeri, the late George Kamunyu Macharia & Zipporah Macharia and Alice Wangari Gacece & Solomon Gacece. Grandfather of Al Kigotho Gakuru, Sylvia Wanjiku Mburu, Kevin Kigotho Macharia, Brian Wanyoike Macharia, Stacy Wanjiku Mutuota, Charlene Mutuota, Victor Kigotho Mutuota, Jeffrey Kigotho Maina, Lemieson Wahogo Maina, Ronny Kigotho Wokabi, Ian Maina Wokabi, Chris Ng’ang’a Mwangi, Jeffrey Kigotho Mwangi, Faith Wanjiku Kamunyu, Amy Muthoni Kamunyu and Emmanuel Kigotho Kamunyu. Great grandfather of Wanjiru and Muthoni Mburu.

Family and friends are meeting at All Saints Cathedral from Monday 6th Jan 2020 starting from 5:30pm and at his home Muirungi, Kiangombe from 4.00pm daily for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Mathari Hospital Mortuary on Friday 10th Jan 2020 for a funeral service at ACK hrist the King Karurumo Church, Muirungi Parish beginning at 10.30am followed by interment at his family home nearby.
