Mwalimu Joshua Okemwa Mokandu

It is with deep sorrow, regret and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Mwalimu Joshua Okemwa Mokandu on 31st October, 2020 after short illness.

Son of the late Wilson Mokandu Nyakwaye and Eucabeth Mosero Mokandu. Husband of the late Elizabeth Kerubo and Veronica Kerubo. Father of Dr. Okemwa (UoN), Eng. Peter Okemwa (NOK), Seth, Judy, Abigael, Mboga and Ombui. Brother of Nyambane, Susan, Margaret, Mary, Nyang’ara, Josephine and Elijah. Nephew of Nyabando, Nyaitondi, Mogute, Pacifica, Peris, Rachel, Bathseba (all late), Joseph Nchore, the late Ombui, the late Ogeto, the late Kangina, Mika, Bosibori, Biiha, Martha, Nyakangi and Kemunto.

Cousin of Nyangechis, Chweya and many others. His nephews are: Mokandu, Jim, Mwembi, Eric, Angela, Carol, and many others. Uncle of Kwamboka, Mokandu Agabus, Nyaboke, Tony, Obonyo, Mwambi, Ombui and Sheilah. Grandfather of Liz, Mokandu, Gichana, Ted, Kerubo, Gabie, Abigail, Nathan, Kwamboka, Regan and Emanuel. Korera of Mary, Geute, Tinega, Momanyi and Martha.

Father-in-law of Alberta (GVRC), Ruth (Kwnze Sec Sch), Damaris, Joshua and Charles. Son in-law of the late Mr & Mrs. Meshack Okebiro and the late Getii Jackson. In-law of Simeon, Mary, Tabitha, Joyce, Lumumba, Dinah, the late Joash, the late Kepha, Jeremiah, David, Florence Nyambane, Masara Kemoni, the late Samuel Mwembi, Nchogu, Julia Nyagatiria, Peter Nyamwaeta, Rose Moraa, Samson Nyangoto, Enoch and Meshack. Semo of Onyangore, Marwanga, Rotich, Maroko and many others.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday 10th November 2020 at his home in Riangombe village, Mwanga Sub-location, Esise Location, Nyamira County.
