It is with profound sorrow that the Machana Family announces the death of Mwalimu Livingstone Areba Okero of Bonyamoyio village, Ibacho Sub-location, Masaba South Sub-County of Kisii County which occurred on 6th November, 2020.

Son of the Mzee Joseph Okero Machana, Mama Binsari Okero and Grace Mong’ina (Sigara) (all late). Brother of Nathaniel Nuguti, Peterson Momanyi, the late Ernest Marucha, William Aming’a, Kebwaro, the late Makaburi, Onkwani; Ongwae, Nyakundi, the late Moraa and Nyamechi. Cousin to: Masese, Makori, Okirigiti, Nuguti, Gwako, Nyakagwa, Onsarigo (all late), Aming’a, Nyakioga, Marucha, Obare, Nyaburi, Binsari, Nyabiage, Nyabogeke among others. Husband to the late Mama Eunice Moraa, Peninah Nyang’ara and Mary Moraa. Father of the late Evans Areba, Kepha Areba, Wycliffe Areba, Alice Obaga, Charles Nyagaka, Douglas Areba, Nicholas Areba, Erick Obare, Gladys Osebe, the late Joyce Nyamasakwe, Ednah Kemunto, Carlinael Moraa, Ezra Areba, Silas Okero, Dennis Areba, Azenath Ateka and Eunice Areba.

Father-in-law of Hon. Milkah Areba, Lornah, Jackie, Francisca, Emily, Damacline, Sarah, Violet, Janet, Hellen, Rtd. Col. Maraga Obaga, Prof. Elijah Ateka, Mayaka, the late Josephat and the late Thomas. The body is lying at St. Joseph Hospital Mortuary, Molo. Daily meetings are going on at his Ibacho and Molo homes.

He will be laid to rest on Friday the 20th of November, 2020, at his Ibacho home, Kisii County.
