Mzee Bineah Nasirai Sigowo

It is with deep sorrow that the Sigowo family and the larger Kabunjosok clan announce the demise of their beloved patriarch, Mzee Bineah Nasirai Sigowo (former Chief Inspector of Police and Chief Security Officer, KGGCU). He passed away aged 86 years old on Saturday 3rd February 2024 at 1.30pm surrounded by his family.

Husband of Margaret Simatwa Chemobo, Janerose Saima and Zainabu Beatrice Wananda.

Father of the late Ruth Chepkwemoi, the late Catherine Chepsakit, Andrew Kiprotich, the late Rose Chepkisich, HE Hon Philomenah Chebetibin (Deputy Governor Trans Nzoia), Bramwel Sigowo Kibet, the late Christopher Kiprop, David Kimtai, Carol Chebet, Gladys Chepteng’an, Solomon Sigowo, Robert Simatwa, Christine Yego, Pamela Chepteek, Betty Cheruto, Leah Cherop, Irene Chelimo, the late Mary Chebundio, Tom Tomno, Mary Cherotich,  Rebecca Cherotich and Esther Temgo.

Brother of the late Maua Bunuka, the late Justo, the late Isaac Chemeniok, Mary Picha, the late Naibei Chemeniok, the late Chesebe Sigowo, the late Ngeywa Sigowo, Frida Chemwei, the late Rael, the late Pius Sigowo and the late Chesing’any.

He had 57 grandchildren namely the late Moses, Tony, Clara, Morgan, Ronnie, Chebet, Cherop, Ben, Brian, Delvin, Brighton, Brad, Bravin, Brillian, Kimut, Kigen, Jebet, Sinzi, Ethan, Myles, Pendo, Amani, Gilbert, Clara, Biden, Clint, Karen, Belinda, Lorine, Valary, Augustine, Modecai, Blessing, Gracious, Favour, Emmanuel, Shadrack, Daniel, Michel, Lavenda, Benard, Liz, Bravin, Brighton, Jeremiah, John, Nehemiah, Nowel, Sandra, Bineah, Sharlin,  Beatrice, Luisa, Rachel, Diana, Bridgit and Houston and 9 great grandchildren namely Crosda, Victor, Maya, Sharon, Eldon, Hesbon, Jonathan, Rose, Ruth and Joy.

Funeral arrangements are ongoing at All Saints Cathedral Nairobi, Mlimani Kitale and at his Koykoy farm in Saboti.

Requiem Mass will be held today, | 5th February 2024 at St Paul’s Catholic Chapel at 9.45am.

The body is at Montezuma Funeral Home and will be airlifted to Kitale on 16th February 2024 for a Vigil at Koykoy farm. Mzee will be laid to rest on Saturday, 17th February 2024 at Koykoy Farm, Kitale.

May the Lord grant Mzee Bineah eternal rest.
