Mzee Elkana Oduor Abiero (“Inspector General”)

It is with humble acceptance of the Lord that we announce the death of Mzee Elkana Oduor Abiero, former Aide to the late Vice-President Jaramogi Oginga Oginga, which occurred on November 5, 2019 at Owen Hospital Bondo, Siaya County.

Son of the late Samuel Abiero Angule and the late Mama Pauline Odolwa of Majimbo. Husband to Mama Waltruda Juma Oduor. Father of Millicent Odhiambo, Priscah Akinyi, Thomas Ogombe, Perez Achieng, Willis Maganda, the late Paul Odhiambo (Akang’o), Samuel Abiero, Owino Maganda and Christine Anyango (Laureen). Brother of the late Augustine Riwa Abiero, Jenifer Miruka Omollo, the late Richard Angule Abiero, the late Dedan Maganda Abiero, the late Nelly Achieng Onyando and the late Martin Ogombe. Brother in-law of Mama Yuanita Riwa, Judith Riwa and the late Joyce Maganda.

Nephew of Ambrose Yombra, Eng. David Maganda and the late Ocholla Otinda of Ulowa. Cousin of the late Rev. Thomas Ogombe, Ojwach Osewe and Amara Wangodo families. Uncle of the late Okoth Riwa, Lilian Mwango, Otieno Riwa, the late Rose Riwa, the late Ochieng Riwa, Odongo Riwa, Okello Riwa, the late Thomas Riwa, Onyango Riwa, the late Awino Riwa, Ben Riwa, Omondi Riwa, Atieno Riwa, Seth Riwa and Merlin Riwa. Father in-law of Peter Marega, Mary Okoth, Effie Chepkemoi, Lilian Otieno, Judith Ngani and Millicent Okello among others, and grandfather and great grandfather to many.

The cortege will leave Owen Hospital Funeral Home in Bondo on November 22, 2019 at 12.30 pm for a funeral service at ACK Nyangera Church, Usigu Parish, thereafter for an overnight stay at his home in Nyangera Village, West Yimbo Location, Bondo Sub-County, Siaya County.

The burial will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2019.
