We regret to announce the death of our dear father Mzee Japheth Opiyo Ligolo of Gatundu Village, Chemelil Location, Kisumu County, on 13/04/2021.
Mzee was the husband of the late Mama Dorka Opiyo. Father of Prof. Milcah Ochieng’; Eng. Tom Odago Opiyo; Noah Opiyo; Monicah Odhiambo; Pamela Otieno; Roseline Adhiambo; Hellen Ng’uono; Ruth Opiyo and, Joseph Opiyo. Brother of the late Mzee Henry Owuor, Mzee Barnaba Malela and the late Joshua Ligolo. Father-in-law of: Madam Linnet Mirehane; Mr. Charles Ochieng; Enos Aoko; Cosmas Oruji; JeffThomas; Eunice Opiyo, among others. Grandfather to many, including: Nancy; Yvonne; Annette; Louisa; Fred; Jeff; Quentin; Millie; Moses x 2; Evelyn; Ndugu; Dorry; Ronnie; Febby; Neeve; Wilfred; Bianca; Jeremy; Cynthia and Joy.
The Church and Funeral Services will be held at St. Luke’s Church, Makindu, Tamu Parish on Tuesday 20/04/2021 from 10.00am.Thereafter, Mzee will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony at his Gatundu Village home from 1.00pm the same day. All COVID-19 protocols shall be strictly observed.

I will never forget my childhood moments with you whenever you used to come for a visit when grandma was still alive, you were an example of a true christian and a true believer of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We will dearly miss you

Jaduong I kept missing your wise counsel, eating your brown ugali, family prayer seasion before we retire to bed, your zeal and hardwork, I miss running errands for you, farms, , I kept lamenting why you left early my best friend before my time until I realized you live through us, the moments you shared with us has shaped us and I thank God for you being my grandfather, the best I would bargain for.
