It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the peaceful rest of Mzee Joel Rachuonyo Owuor on the 21st December, 2019.

Son of the late Harun Owuor and Haddah Nyambune. Husband of the late Esther Akuku Rachuonyo, Lydia Achieng Owuor. Brother of the late Tabia Amenya, the late Yudah Odundo Owuor and (Rtd.) Pastor Enoch Oloo Owuor. Father of Margaret Adhiambo, Duncan Odoyo Rachuonyo, Olivia Obel, Evans Harun Owuor, Clifford Okello Rachuonyo, Dorothy Ouma, Japheth Ondiwa Rachuonyo, Dr. Harold Anindo Rachuonyo, Stephen Joel Rachuonyo, Ray Ogola, the late Liziah Akinyi, Violet Rachuonyo, Irene Rachuonyo, Tom Rachuonyo, Geoffrey Rachuonyo and Beatrice Rachuonyo.

Father-in-law of Pamela Odoyo, the late Ruth Owuor, Millicent Owuor, the late Mary Oula, Sarah Odidi, Dr. Molly Ondiwa, Racheal Chelang’at Anindo, Lorna Rachuonyo, Maria Rachuonyo, and Rosebella Rachuonyo, Cleophas Oduor Meso Kanyangweso, the late Samwel Obel, Peter Ouma Arombe, Daniel Ogola, the late Maurice Onyango and the late Elijah Asimba. Son in-law of the late Andrea Anindo Nyakachunga, and the late Agola Apuoyo. Brother in-law of the late John Amenya Akede, the late Hon. Phares Oluoch Kanindo and the late Samson Ochieng Agola, amongst others.

`Nyawana’ of the late Enos Ajode, the late Thomas Akoo Ongor, the late Samuel Otieno, the late Jared Kamala, George Alando, the late Hannington Oula, the late Johnson Odidi, the late William Adiema Nyawara, Leonard Ndiema, Joash Ojwang’ Ong’wela, the late Jechonia Aoko, Samson Odhier, Esao Asimba, Eng. Victor Eugene and Dr. Fredric O. Ndede. Uncle of Dr. Victor Owuor, Josephine Owuor, Dr. Hulda Amenya, Amos Amenya, Joseph Oloo, Moses Oloo, among others. He is survived with 49 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.

Daily meetings are ongoing at his Home in Ranen, Dago Kogelo, Awendo Sub-county, Migori County. Family and friends to meet on Sunday 5th January, 2020 at Nairobi Central SDA Church – Maxwell Old Sanctuary at 4:00pm.

The cortege leaves Kirindo MED 25 Funeral Home on Thursday, 9th January, 2020 for tribute, prayers and overnight stay at his home in Ranen-Migori County.

Funeral service and burial shall be held on Friday, 10th January, 2020 at his home in Ranen.
