village, Kangari Location, Kigumo sub- county Murang’a County following a short illness.Husband of Jacinta Waithira Mathara. Son of the Late Muchui Mathara and the late Alice Nyambura Muchui. Brother of Leah Wambui Chege, Paul Kagure Muchui among others.

Father of Viginia Wanjiku, Dr. Julius Maina Mathara of JKUAT, john Kimani Mathara of Mwiki Kasarani, Alice Nyambura, Esther Wanjiru, Leah Wambui Gichiri, Margret Wangui, Mary Waitherero Muigai and Lucy
