Nelius Wanjiru Mathenge

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on, of our dear mum Nelius Wanjiru Mathenge, after a long illness bravely borne.

Wife of the late Charles Mathenge Thindiu. Mother of Catherine Wangui (formerly Telcom Embu), James Mathangani (Roben Aberdare), Festus Muigua (USA) and John Mathenge (Kerugoya Prisons). Sister of the late Kariuki Muigwa, Githiomi Muigwa, Millicent Watetu, Phylis Warigia, Eunice Njoki, the late Alice Nyawira and Muriithi Muigwa.

Sister-in-law of Maina Thindiu, the late Wamahiu, Nyaga, Ndirangu, Rosemary Wangeci, the late Kogi, Nyandia, Wahome, Waigumo, Elizabeth, Wambui, Wangui, Waithera and Elder Alice. Mother-in-law of Jane Wanjiru (USA), Monica Wanjiku and Judy Wacuka (PCEA Makadara Parish). Grandmother of Teddy, Elsie, Wanjiku, Nelius, Stephanie and Bridget.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at her home in Gatitu village for prayers and burial arrangements.

The cortege leaves Mathari Mission Hospital Mortuary on Friday 14th May 2021, at 8:00am. Funeral service will be held at Gatitu PCEA Church, from 10:00am. Thereafter burial will follow on the same day at her home in Gatitu village, Nyeri.
