Omugambi Joshua Owuor Amisi

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mzee Joshua Owuor Amisi, Chairman of the Mfangano Council of Elders which occurred on the 30th of January, 2024 in Kisumu aftera short illness.

He was son of the late Zakaria Amisi Ogwendo and the late Mama Nyambaya Apoda ofWasamo Village in Suba Central Sub-county, Mfangano West Location.

He was a beloved husband of Roselida Anyango and Esther Atieno. He was the father of Oluoch (the late), Okayo, Priscah (the late), Essy (the late), Nollen, Teddy (the late), Evelyne, Millie, Beatrice, Eric, Felix, Lameck (the late), Victor and Meshak.

He was the father-in-law of Walter Mukhwana, George Wasonga, Leon Onyonyi, John Opondo Ambogo, Grace (the late), Roselyn, Pamela, Caro, Christine, Eva and Judy.

He was the brother of Odago (the late), Geoffrey (the late), Adoyo (the late), Ogweno, Ouma, Pauline, Philister, Judy and Odongo.

He was a cousin of Kizia, Okayo (the late), Roselyn, Oketch (the late), Walter, Agola, Sam, Ogutu (the late).

He was a brother-in-law of Sylvia (the late), Jane (the late) among others.

Grandfather of Sylvia, Sheryl, Michael, Bruno, Baraka, Liz, Mark, Cedrick, Dave, Esther, Collins, Kevin, Klaus, Love, Hope, Matthew, Brenda, Lavine, Blessing, Nabz, Dosil, Ikhabi, Larry, Leigh, Felicia, Alicia, Shawn, Leticia, Ray, Roy, Reign, Precious, Mugati, Shedan among others.

Funeral arrangements are both in Kisumu and his rural home in Kisuri Village.

The cortege leaves Kirindo Mortuary on the 15th of February, 2024 at 12.30pm. His interment rite and burial ceremony will be held in his home at Kisuri Village, Mfangano West Location on Friday, 16 February, 2024.
