It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our Mother Paskalia Ogwel Apiyo which occurred on 3rd July 2019 peacefully at her home in Migori, Ragana village.
Daughter of the late Mzee Jacobo Odiero and late Maria Maulo. Wife of the late Mzee Alsalmus Apiyo Onyango. Mother of James Ogallo (Retired Clinical Officer), William Wameyo (Baraka Uniforms), Getrude Nyapara, Magadalene Abur (Retired Nurse), John Dalton Odhiambo (formerly of Jubilee Ins), Gabriel Orwa, Eng. Gilphas Otieno Apiyo (Nu-Plan Engineering), Richard Nyakidi (formerly KRC) and Peter Odiero (Former Principal Domus Marie), Step-mother of the late Lawrence Okeyo (Kenya Navy).
Mother-in-law of the late Rhoda Akumu, Martha Adera, Margaret Akeyo, Hilda Amolo, Millicent Odera (Deputy Headteacher Ng’undu Primary), Dr. Mary Goretty Akinyi (Lecturer UON), Milka Adhiambo and Dr. Beatrice Ndiga (Principal Ngara Girls Secondary). Sister of the late Okumu Odiero and the late Micah Origi and step sister of the late Ohanya Koja, the late Omondi, the late Onyango, the late Yuko,Auma Odiero and the late Akeyo Odiero. Mother-in-law of the late Jackson Nyapara and the late Peter Abur. She is survived by 56 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 11great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a requiem mass at Eng. Gilphas Apiyo’s residence, Ngong on Sunday 14th July, 2019 at 2.00pm followed by a fundraising on Monday 15th July 2019 at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi from 5.30pm.
The cortege leaves Ombo Mission Hospital Mortuary on Thursday 18th July, 2019 for requiem mass at St. Chelestino Oruba Catholic Church, Migori at 2.00pm and the burial will be held on Friday 19th luly 2019 at her home in Migori, Ragana Village.
