Appreciation

We, the family of Philomena Nduku Mwendwa, wish to express our sincere and humble gratitude for the support received during Mama’s life and final journey. We are deeply grateful for the spiritual, emotional, physical and financial support for Mama from the onset of her ageing, to the ensuing immobility and upon her peaceful passing. We offer our thanks to God whose unconditional and immeasurable love we have experienced throughout Mama’s life and who chose to teach us the values of loving Him, generosity, forgiveness and peace-making through her life.

We further extend our gratitude to the Holy Church, which in Christian fashion stood firm with the family; the Ndaragwa Catholic Church, the St.Andrew’s Church, the CITAM Church, the Ndaragwa Funeral Association and the Ndaragwa Community in particular, who occasioned massive support and effort in the funeral arrangements and the funeral. Special appreciation to Fr. Gathirimu, Fr. Kiarie and Fr. Mathenge who remained firm friends to Mama and steadfastly looked after her spiritual well-being wherever she moved.

Our appreciation and recognition is also given to the medical fraternity and to caregivers who not only ensured that Mama received the best health care possible but received it in the most convenient way through home visits. Special thanks to her attending physician, Prof. C. F Otieno, and to Sr. Dr. Maria Ngui who was Mama’s primary caregiver for the last 7 years.

We will remain always grateful to Syombua who aided Mama with daily care during her stay in Machakos. We acknowledge our beloved friends who stood beside us in their individual capacity, corporates and as groups from Nairobi. Machakos, Mukuyuni and Ndaragwa offering your time, presence, prayers and your resources both during Mama’s ageing and in her final journey. Thank you for you have shown us true friendship by your unwavering support all through.

We would have desired to acknowledge by name every person, group or institution that was involved in this journey but are constrained for space. Please accept our sincere gratitude and know that we feel truly blessed and will remain forever indebted. May God continue to provide for your hands and strengthen your hearts. Asanteni sana.
