Pius Walubengo Mumiukha

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing away of Pius Walubengo Mumiukha (formerly a senior lecturer at Egerton University).

Beloved husband of Ann-Mary Mumiukha and father of the late Daniel Misiko, Patrick Misiko, Catherine Khakasa, Francis Mumelo and Leonard Kasili. Son of the late Bartholomew Walubengo and the Late Salome Nelima Walubengo. Brother of the Late Prof. Edward Kasili, the late Joseph Mumelo, Cleophas Misiko, the late Mary Lowed, Alice Wamalwa, Daniel Wakoli, Celestine Wakoli, Catherine Nafula, Clement Miheso, Suzy Nanjala & Peter Kasili. Brother in law of Speranza Kasili, Rachel Mumelo, Anna Misiko, Dora Miheso & Maurice Lusweti.

Father-in law of Claire Misiko, Kristin AI Schaefer Mumelo and Emily Kasili. Grandfather of Salome, Gabriella, Elizabeth, Natasha, Purity, Gabriel, Emery, Manuella, Khakasa, Ava and Jude. Cousin of Mary Wasike, Mathias, Richard, Peter, Martin & Reginald Kokonya, Romano Wachiye among others and Uncle to the Kasili, Mumelo, Misiko,Wasike, Kokonya, Nabangi, Kollikho and Wekesa families.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his residence at Egerton Golf Estate in Njoro and his rural home in Bungoma.

Contributions towards defraying funeral expenses can be sent through Paybill number: 740099 Account no: Contributor’s name. A requiem mass will be held at 5pm on the 22nd of March 2018 at St. Lwanga Catholic Church, Njoro.

The cortege will leave Njoro for his home at Mayanja Kibuke, Bungoma on Friday 23rd March 2018 for final funeral rites and interment which will be held on Saturday March 24th, 2018.
