Prof. James Nyambane Ombega, OGW

It IS with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we the family of Prof. James Nyambane Ombega announce his passing on Sunday, 27th May 2018.

He was until his death the Head of the Department of Pharmacy in the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Kenya Methodist University. He was formerly of School of Pharmacy at the University of Nairobi. He was a longstanding member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya.

Son of the late Ombega Ongau and the late Rebecca Nyaboke Ombega. Beloved Husband of Zibiah Moraa Nyambane. Loving father of Elizabeth Nyambane – Ongubo, Dr. Mercy Nyanchama and Joash Agwata. Father in law of Jackson Ongubo. Brother of Anne Ogechi, Janice Mogoi, the late Eunice Sarange, Yucabeth Onserio, Johnson Onyiego, Alice Nyabeta and the late Beatrice Bosibori. A dear grandfather of Arnani,  Zawadi and Jesse. Son-in-law of Paramount Chief Manono Agwata and Naomi Bosibori Agwata. Brother-in-law of the late Ogechi, Ratemo, James Onserio, Zipporah Bochere, Victor Onsongo, Sigara, Osugo, Rodgers Achoki, Joseph Onyancha, Helena Mayogi, Moses Bundi and others. Korera of Peris Ongubo. Uncle of Sam Mankone, Clare Omanga, Hon. Ben Momanyi, Martin Agwata, Eileen, Lucy, George,Moses, Isabella, Naomi, Moses among others.

Family and friends will meet for the final fundraiser scheduled for Tuesday, 12th June 2018 at 5:30p.m. at the 680 Hotel, Nairobi. Contributions can be sent to MPESA PAYBILL business number 542354, account number (name of sender).

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Wednesday, 13th June 2018 at 1:00 p.m. for a celebration of his life and funeral service at CITAM Valley Road, Nairobi beginning at 2:00p.m.

A funeral service and burial thereafter is scheduled for Friday, 15th June 2018 at his family home at Botori, Kisii County.
