It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Professor John Billy Lusi Chek on Wednesday 4th November 2020 after a short illness. Until his death Prof. Chek was an Associate Professor of Medical Biochemistry, School of Medicine. Before joining Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology he worked at the University of Nairobi and Uzima University. He hails from Sidho Obumba Sub-location, Ombeyi Location, Muhoroni Constituency in Kisumu County.

Son of Vittalis Chek (late) and Jeniffer Atieno Chek. Husband to Alla Chek and Monica Ouko. Father to Nelson & Nyawira Chek, Denis & Njeri Chek, Venus, Allan and Irene. Grandfather to Ella, Nicola, Ethan and Nathaniel Chek. Bother to Gabriel Awinda Chek (Iate),Walter Chek, Joshua Okwama Chek, Fred Oyoo Chek, Emmanuel, Michael, Arodi Lucas Nyagilo, James Otieno (late), Lucas Ong’any (late), Karen Anyango Chek, Beatrice Akoth Chek, Regina Agot Chek, Dorris Awili Chek. Brother-in-law to Beatrice Awinda Chek, Roselyne Akinyi, Josephine, Rose, Agneta Oyoo, Hellen Margaret Moro, Regina. Nephew to Oriwa and Joseph Alwanda,Adede and Odiek Oringo.

He worked at various institutions of Higher learning including University of Nairobi, Uzima University and Masinde Muliro. He hails from Sidho Obumba Sublocation, Ombeyi Location, Muhoroni Constituency in Kisumu County.

The body leaves Star Mortuary on Thursday 12th November 2020 and proceeds to his home for overnight stay. Thereafter the burial will be held at his home on Friday 13th November 2020.

Rest In peace Dad you will truly be missed.
