Prof Joseph Mwaniki Kitonyi, former principal College of Health Science University of Nairobi
It is with great sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Prof. Joseph Mwaniki Kitonyi, former Principal of the College of Health Sciences, University of Nairobi, and former lecturer and Chairman in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the School of Medicine.
He went to be with the Lord on the 29th of May 2019 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Joseph was the son of the late Rev. Philip Kitonyi and Mrs. Mary ltumbi. He was the loving husband of Prof. Grace Wanjiku Kitonyi and devoted father of Philip Karanja Kitonyi, Sam Mwaniki Kitonyi and Neema Ngwatilo.
He was the brother of Manasseh Mutua, the late Lydia Simu, the late Phoebe Munguti, Beth Nduku Kamende, Rev. Kavula John and the late David Kavita. He was a brother-in-law of Paul Simu, Edward John, Dilom Munguti, Rhoda Mbithe, Reverend Peter Karanja, Kenneth Kamau, the late Philip Kamende, and Grace Mueni Kavita.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will meet for prayers at his home in Valley Arcade at 5:00 pm on Sunday 2nd June, 2019 and at the Nairobi Baptist Church, Ngong Road on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th June 2019 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Details of the memorial service and funeral arrangements will be announced later.
