Purity Wakiuru Weru

1926 – 2022

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of our beloved mother and matriarch Purity Wakiuru Weru on 20th June 2022. She hailed from Gitunduti sub-location, Magutu Location, Mathira East in Nyeri County.

Loving wife of the Late Ignatius Weru. Daughter of the late Senior Chief Murigu and the Late Mercy Wairimu (Wanjogu). Mother of the Late Murigu Weru, Wanjiru Nganga, Gatu Weru, Munyoro Weru, and lrimu Weru. Mother-in-law to Gathoni Murigu, the late Ng’ang’a Mwangi,Wamaitha Gatu, ill Dr Esther Munyoro and Jecinta lrimu.

Sister of the late Hiuko Ruhiu, the late Gathoni Ngare, the late Timothy lrimu, the late Kirigo Magondu, the late Solomon Thirimu and the late tit Charles Njiiri.

She is a grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother to many.

The cortege leaves the Jamii Hospital Mortuary, Karatina at 9am on Friday 24th June 2022 for the funeral service and burial starting at 10am at her home in Gitunduti, Magutu location, Nyeri County.
