Rebecca Jane Muthoni Wanjeri (Mama Bot)

It is with a deep sense of loss that we announce the death of Rebecca Jane Muthoni Wanjeri (Mama Bot), which occurred on the 24th January 2024, following a 26-year brave fight against rheumatic heart disease and its complications.

Rebecca was the daughter of Dorcas Wangui and the late Joseph Mucanga wa Thuita.

Sister to Joyce Wangari, John Thuita Maina, Stephen Ndonga, Gibson Mwangi, Beatrice Mukui, and Margaret
Wacinga;

Wife to Alex Maina Kagigite

Mother to Joseph Kagigite, Robert Njinju, Patrick Gatonga, John Thuita, Simon Noru, and the late Stephen Ndonga.

Mother-in-law to Alice Wanjiru, Terry Ngina, Sheila Njoki, and Diana Cherono.

She has left behind many grandchildren; Kayla, Maina, Kiragu, Roy, Angela, Julianne, Nathan, Micah, Aaron,
Coralie, among others.

Burial arrangements are in progress, with daily prayers and meetings taking place at her home in Kiserian, ACK Road, off Magadi Road; and in Nairobi at Cardinal Otunga Annex (St. John Paul II Hall), Holy Family Basilica.

The cortege will depart Lee Funeral Home at 7:30am on Thursday, 1st February 2024, for a requiem mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Parish in Kiserian, and afterwards proceed to her home where she will be laid to rest.
