It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden promotion to glory of Rev. Canon Anthony Munene Nyaga, former employee of Car & General (Kenya) Ltd, after a short illness
Son of Mzee James Nyaga and the late Jemimah Wainoi. Beloved husband of Mrs. Janet Muthoni Munene, father of Grace Wanjiku Gathu (Alerians Ltd), James Nyaga (the late), Evelyne Wainoi (Ngong Butchers Co-op society) and Emily Njeri (LIWE Ltd). Father-in-law of Jesse Gathu (Jegama Suppliers Ltd). Brother of Amos Kinyua, Mary Njeri, Faith Nyawira (the late), Lucy Muringo, Albert Njai, Winnie Esther Wanjera and AnnroseWagathil. Grandfather of Alex Macharia (USIU), Rita Wanjiku (Marist University), Anthony Munene (St. Hannah’s Karen), Joseph Kinyua (Musa Gitau School) and Ethan Njoroge (Tussel Junior). Uncle of Newton James, Martin James, Geoffrey Kamau, Ian James, Nelly Wambui, Jemimah Wambui, James Nyaga and David Wainaina.
Family and friends are meeting daily at his Ongata Rongai home at 5pm.
On 5th June 2019, the cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home at 9:00am for ACK St Faith’s Church, Ongata Rongai where the requiem mass will be held. Viewing of the body shall be immediately after service.
The funeral will take place at Langata cemetery on the 6th June 2019 and the cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home at 10:00am.
He fought a good fight, he finished the race, and kept the faith.

When I remember this Canon, I always shed tears. Canon was a true Steward, as a student at CUEA and a member of St. Michael’s and All Angels Leiser Hill, he used to encourage me and loved me like his own child. I named my boy after him and whenever I see my Anthony I always pray that he grows and take the Christian qualities that the great man of God had.
May Canon’s soul continue to rest in perfect peace and may God bless my son to be exactly like him.
