It is with great sadness that we announce the call to glory of our beloved Rev Justus Kiendi Mandiu of CCI Arise and Shine which occurred on 28 June 2020 after a short but valiant battle with a blood disorder.

Rev Kiendi was a wonderful son to Michael Mwai Wanjohi and Alice Mwikali Mwai, Beloved husband to Rose Kiendi and loving father to Daniel Muthama (KRA), David Wambua (Citibank) and Faith Mwende (Strathmore University). Precious Grandfather to Darlene and Dawn. Cherished Brother to Wanjohi Mwai (Brookhouse School) and Jane Joyce Ruguru (Business lady). Father in law to Doreen Muthama. Son in law to the Late Timothy and Monica Mwei. Cousin to Paul Nzuve, Sammy Mwali, Anthony Musau, Binna Kimotho, Charles Musembi, Raphael Mwendwa, Benson Kamolo, Steve Mutunga, Joy Mutave, Phyllis Ndanu, Stephen Kimuu among others. Beloved uncle to many nephews and nieces who immensely cherished him.

Rev Kiendi was a good and faithful servant of God, whose actions and fiery zeal for Christ were his greatest testimony. He was an extraordinary gentleman in all his roles as a son, husband, father, preacher, leader, mentor, counsellor among many others. During his professional career, Rev Kiendi worked for the KRA until 1999 when he took up full time ministry after early retirement. He faithfully served God in various capacities in the church from his early twenties. His most notable position was the Senior Pastor of CCI Arise and Shine, Thika, a role he held for 26 years. He held various roles within the greater CCI church including Thika Region Overseer, National Executive Council (NEC) Member National Administrative Council (NAC) Member, CCI National Treasurer, Chairman of the Finance Board and Treasurer of the CCI Pastors’ Welfare Scheme among others. As we mourn his loss, we are grateful to God for Rev Kiendi’s accomplished life and his prodigious legacy which will outlive him for years to come.

The cortege }eaves KU Mortuary on the 8 July 2020 at 8 AM to proceed for his burial at the family home at Muti, Mitubiri, Gatanga, Murangá county. Kindly note that the ceremony will be conducted strictly in accordance with MOH COVID-19 guidelines.
