Rev. Sister Mary Rita Shisala Itebete
It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Rey. Sr Mary Rita Shisala Itebete.
She was a member of the congregation of Sisters of Mary, Kakamega, and a long serving Principal at Sacred Heart Mukumu Girls High School from 1978 to 2004, Sacred Heart Mukumu Parish – Catholic Diocese of Kakamega.
Daughter of the late Mzee Ambrose Itebete and Late Mama Felistus Muyuka Itebete of Imilonje, lsaboso Village, Shidodo Sub Location, Khayega, Shinyalu, Kakamega County.
Sister of the Late Teresia Khasiala, Peter Nasiali, Late John Tendwa, Late David Mukabwa, Vincent Wichenje and Clementina Indakuli.
Cousin of Peter Machanje, Sebenzia Pima, Gerald Alulu, among others.
Aunty of the Nasialis, Tendwas, Mukabwas, Wichenjes, Ajevis families, among others.
There will be Holy Mass at Holy Family Basilica Nairobi at 2:00PM today, 27th Mar 2024 to pray for the departed Soul of Sr Rita Shisala Itebete, followed by a Harambee at the Cathedral Hall. Contributions can be sent to MPESA Paybill: 8056497 Account RITA ITEBETE SEND OFF
Requiem Mass will be held on 1st Apr at 3pm at Sisters of Mary Kakamega St. Augustine Chapel Mother House, followed by night Vigil Masses.
Burial Mass will be held on Tue 2nd Apr 2024 starting at 10:00AM at Mukumu Catholic Church, and thereafter, she will be laid to rest at Mukumu Convent Cemetery, Kakamega.

RIP Sister Rita. You were my principal at Mukumu Girls from 1994 to 2007. Thank u for the good work u did in moulding us to be who we are today. Till we meet again.
