January 21, 1941 – January 12, 2018

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that the Murai family announce the peaceful passing of Richard Roita Murai on Saturday, 12th January 2018.

Husband of the late Phyllis Njoki Murai. Father of Murugi Murai, David Murai and Wairimu Amekudzi. Father-in-law of Traci Bradfield Murai and Dzinyo Kwabena Amekudzi. Loving grandfather of Yamina Njoki Murai, Malaika Lynn Murai, Shiloh Roita Murai, Daniel Kojo Amekudzi, Victor Rountree, Dominic Rountree, Kiara Rountree and Joshua Roita Amekudzi.

Son of the late Senior Chief Ignatius Murai and the late Berarda Murugi Murai of Mugoiri, Murang’a county. Brother to the late Sister Ignazia Pia Wambui, Ambassador Emma Murai, the late Thomas Gakiria, the late Josephine Watiri Michuki, the late St. Stephen Macharia, the late Patrick Mucheru, the late James Mwangi and Thomas Kimangu.

Daily prayers will be held at the Loresho PCEA Church from 5.30pm starting Monday, 15th January 2018.

Requiem Mass will be held on Thursday 18th January 2018 at St Austin’s Catholic Church, Msongari, at 10am.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Friday, 19th January, 2018, at 7.30am.

There will be a funeral service held at Mugoiri Catholic Church, Murang’a, starting at 11am, followed by the burial in Mugoiri near Kuhuro.
