Rose Karuru Munugu Gatua

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of our beloved Rose Karuru Munugu Gatua who went to be with the Lord on 17th June 2021 after an illness bravely borne in Bangalore, India.

She was the loving wife to Daniel Munugu Gatua and a doting mother to Catherine Nkatha, Fridah Karimi, Dr. Josephine Gakii and Faith Karwirwa. She was an adoptive mother to Nasra Islan.

She was daughter of the late Henry Mwithimbu and the late Mama Julia Mukokinya Mwithimbu. She was daughter-in-law to the late M’Muthamia M’Ibuuri and the late Kajuju M’Muthamia. A sister to the late Gervasio Mutua, Mary Muthoni, the late Peter Mbaya, the late Veronica Gacheri, Silveria Mwari, Zaverio Muroria, the late Sammy Gituma, stepsister to George Mugambi and John Murithi. She was mother-in-law to Charles Ngure Ng’anga, an adoring aunt to many, a dedicated servant of the church, and a friend to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily from 4pm at her home Karumanthi, in Kaaga, Meru for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Consolata Hospital Mortuary, Nkubu on 30th June 2021, at 9.00am. The church service will be held at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Meru starting at 11.00am. Thereafter Interment will follow at her home in Karumanthi, Kagaa.
