It is with great sadness that we announce the promotion to glory of Salome Achieng Okello (Adhunga Nyokoyo) on 22nd September 2018 in Maryland, USA.

Wife of Colonel (Rtd) Fredrick Paul Okello – KAF. Loving mother of Alvin Okello of Nairobi and Aaron Okello of Los Angeles. Daughter-in-law of Mzee Odongo Okello and the late May Odongo (mama Aldo). Sister-in-law of the late Shadrack Opiyo, Daniel Ayayo, Sophie Onunga, the late Aduda Odongo, Ada Odongo and Meshack Opiche. Sister of Elizabeth Amolo formerly of UNEP, Pricilla Obara, Joyce Obara, Samuel Obara (all of Nairobi/ Kisumu); Nicholas Obara, Christopher Obara, Peter Obara, Charles Obara and Robert Obara (all of USA). Aunty of many.

The funeral committee meetings for Gem are being held daily at their Yala home. The Nairobi funeral committee meetings for Friends/relatives are being held at All Saints Cathedral hall under the chairmanship of Eng. Collins Ondunga of Kenya Atomic Energy Agency and will be on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (26th to 28th September).

The main harambees for both Nairobi and Yala are scheduled for Tuesday 2nd October starting from 5.00pm at All Saints Cathedral Hall and Colonel Ret. Okello’s Home in Yala respectively.

A funeral service will be held at All Saints Cathedral on Thursday 4th October and the Cortege will leave Nairobi for Kisumu on Friday 5th October by air.

The body will then proceed to Yala by road and a service will be conducted at ACK St. Paul’s Parish in Yala.

The burial will be conducted on Saturday 6th October at their Yala home (next to Ndanu Falls Lodge off Kisumu-Busia highway).
