Salome Nyatetu Waigwa

It is with acceptance of God’s will and with profound sorrow that we announce the promotion to glory of our mother and family matriarch, Mrs. Salome Nyatetu Waigwa, on Tuesday, 27th September 2022.

Beloved wife of the late Samuel Waigwa of Muruguru, Nyeri County. Daughter to the late Jonathan Nganga Njuki and Esther Waguthi. Sister to the late Naomi Wanjiru, the late Zelipa Nyangara, the late Samuel Njuki, Joshua Murakaru, the late Anna Gachanja, Lydia Njanja, Charity Nyakihu and James Hunja.

Adored mother to Rose Nyaguthii, Prof. Esther Murugi Kahangi, Lee Waruingi and the late Emily Wairimu, Wangari wa Nyatetu-Waigwa and Christopher Stone (US), Jonathan Muraguri, the late Jedidah Waigwa and Esther Wambui, and Gatamu Waigwa.

Loving grandmother to Sally, Waigwa and Eddah, Wambui, the late Ndei, Loise and Charles, Ndungu and Nyokabi, Naeku, Laikwan, Wachira, Nyatetu and Kiragu, Muthoni, Waigwa Gatamu and Purity, Nyatetu Gatamu and Israel Waigwa.

Great-grandmother to Maina, Waruingi, Muiruri, Makena, Mukami, Lily, Lee, Gichuri, Muraguri, Tatua, Murugi and Jeremy. Loving auntie, niece, cousin, and friend to many.

Family & friends are meeting for prayers at St. Andrews Church, Nairobi on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th October at 5:30pm and in Nyeri at her home in Muruguru at 4:00pm.

The cortege leaves Outspan Funeral Home on Friday, 7th October 2022 at 9:00am service and burial at her home in Muruguru, Nyeri, at 10.00am.
