APPRECIATION

We, the family of the late Sammy Muthoka Mbova wish to convey our deepest and heartfelt appreciation to all those who stood with us and supported us as we laid our beloved husband, father and grandfather to rest. Without your support – emotional, physical & financial – the journey toward his send-off would not have been as seamless and befitting as it was. We remain grateful to God for the years we shared with him and for the positive impact he made in our lives.

As a family, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our President, H.E Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta for condoling with us and acknowledging the contribution that Sam Mbova provided to Kenya as a humble & dedicated Civil Servant. Our heartfelt thanks also go to H.E Kalonzo Musyoka, the Machakos County Government led by H.E Alfred Mutua, the Makueni County Government led by H.E Kivutha Kibwana, Senator Johnson Muthama, Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr., Honourable Katana Ngala and all other dignitaries who found time to condole and pray with us.

We are very grateful to the Steering Committee in Nairobi led by Senator David Musila, Honorable Patrick Musimba, Mr. Mbuvi Ngunze and Mr. Japheth Mwania. We recognise the efforts of the Makindu Steering Committee led by Mr. Francis Muia. We appreciate the Committee of Retired Permanent Secretaries for going out of their way and ensuring that their friend and colleague had a befitting send-off. We acknowledge and thank the Kamba Council of Elders for ensuring that Sam was given a dignified send-off befitting of a Kamba Elder.

We recognise and pay tribute to the Clergy at St. Austin’s Church, St. Peters Catholic Church Makindu, Apostles of Jesus, The Most Precious Blood Sisters and the All Saints Cathedral. We remain grateful to the Nairobi Hospital and the team of Doctors and Nurses led by Dr. David Silverstein who went out of their way to ensure that he was as comfortable as he could possibly be during his hospitalisation. We thank all those who made hospital visits and for all who prayed with us and offered their encouragement during those difficult moments. We also thank Capital FM & the Kenya Airline Pilots Association for sending out a blood appeal. We especially thank all those who went out of their way to donate blood.

We acknowledge that there are very many others who stood with the Mbova family. As it is not possible to individually thank each one of you in this appreciation, kindly accept this as our sincere gratitude. We are overwhelmed and humbled by your love and kindness. Your support during this difficult period of grieving this loss has served as a great source of encouragement.

We really appreciate your thoughtfulness and sympathy. May the Almighty God bless you all!
