Senior Chief John Muriuki Magiri (Rtd)

It is with deep and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the death of Retired Senior Chief John Muriuki Magiri that occurred on August 29 after a long illness bravery borne.

Son of the late Joseph Magiri and Agnes Ukima. Beloved husband of Jacinta Kainyu. Son in law of the late Muraga Ngatoni and Sarah Mbaka. Father of the late Nancy Gatakaa, Gaudencia Karugi & Raymond Massae (Kilele Africa – Tanzania), the late Peter Gichuru, Joyceline Njoki & Charles Ndungu (Mastermind Tobacco), and Makena Muriuki. Grandfather of Cindy Wanjiru, Cedric Mwangi, Bantu Muriuki, Ashley Muthoni, Natasha Kendi, Henia Ndungu, and John Muriuki inn Brother of Cyprian Marangu, Silvio Kathenya, Regina Karega, and Ignatius Kaburu.

Friends and relatives are meeting at Sagret Hotel on Monday, 2nd September and at All Saints Cathedral from Tuesday, 2nd September to Thursday 4th September beginning at 5.30PM for funeral arrangements and fundraising to meet the hospital bill. Meetings are also being held at Nguruki village.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Saturday, September 7 at 6.00AM for Requiem Mass at Iruma Catholic Church at 10.00AM and burial at his home in Nguruki village, Iruma location, Tharaka-Nithi County.
