Simon Chepkwony Arap Bartai

It is with deep sorrow to announce the demise of Marindany Simon Chepkwony arap Bartai of Makimeny Location Chepalungu Bomet County, which occurred on 24th March 2022.

He was born in 1911 at Kipleiji, Bomet County to the late Ngasura arap Lang’at and the late Tapsaramei Lang’at of Kapkaon Clan.

Grandson of the late Kiplang’at Arap Kisiara who lived in Bureti.

Husband to the late Christina Tapelgat Bartai (Obot Rodhah) of Kapoleseroi, the late Jane Taplule Bartai (Obot Nosh) of Kabema, Mary Bartai of Gelegele Bomet County.

Father to 14 children the late Eunice Serem (Obot Chepkorir), Rodhah Bii, Gabriel, Samuel, Joseph Lang’at, Noah, Philipp, Sarah, Charles, Dalmas, Cherono, Gilbert, Kipchirchir, and Chebet.

Father-in-law to Selina Koske Kapoleseroi, Rachel & Cinthia, Sarah Lang’at, Selina Koske Kabema and Disesa had 63 grandchildren, 88 Great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

Brother to the late Zipporah Kerich (Obot James) of Tebesonik, Kericho County, the late James, the late Jonah, Ezekiel Leitich, Samuel Leitich, the late Tito, Gladys and Jane.

Step-son to the late Chepotuwei Lang’at. Step-brother to Bornes Chepotuwei Bartai, Kipsang’, Rita, the late Peninah, Gladys, Vincent, Stella, Chebet and Titus.

Prayers and funeral arrangements are daily ongoing at his home in Kapoleseroi and Kabema.

Fundraising will be held at Kabema home on 6th April 2022.

The cortege will leave hospital mortuary on Friday 8th April 2022 for overnight vigil at Kapoleseroi home awaiting funeral ceremony on Saturday 9th April 2022.
