Simon Mugo Mathenge

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Simon Mugo Mathenge of Thika, Chania Village on the 2nd of March, 2020.

Son of the late Wilson Mathenge Kirunyu and the late Priscah Njoki Mathenge. Husband of Peris Nyangara. Loving father of Faith Njoki, William Mathenge, Michael Kibira, Douglas Mwangi and Isaac Wanjau. Father-in-law of George, Margaret, Anne and Carma. Brother of Douglas Mwangi, Susan Ndiritu, Martha Mathenge, the late Joe Muriuki, Milcah Kuguru, Zilpah Agnes Mukumbu, Julia Kameru and B. M. Mathenge (Uncle Beet). Grandfather of Raymond, Grace & Makumi, Caroline, Maureen & Bowen, Jannel, Zackary, Carmel & Zane and great grandfather of Tatiana Mumbi.

Family and friends are meeting for prayers at their Thika home at 6:00pm and Unjiru, Karatina home at 3:00pm.

The cortege leaves KU Funeral Home on Wednesday, 11th of March 2020 at 8:00 a.m. for the funeral service to be held at PCEA Thika Town Church at 9 a.m. Burial will follow thereafter at 2 p.m. in his Unjiru home in Karatina, Nyeri County.
