It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Retired Nurse Sister Susan Ayoma Were (formerly of Kapsabet District Hospital and Shianda Health Centre) on 10th May 2021 after a short illness.

Daughter of the late Mr. Johnstone Onyino and Mrs. Joyce Andeso Onyino of Esiamayayi, Ebulonga Location, Bunyore East Loving Wife of Wycliffe Were Wetabas (formely of Moi University Pharmacy Dept.).

Beloved Mother of Rachael Were (ICRC), Michael Were (Magharibi Hub), Dr. Were Onyino (KMA President) and Selinah Were (KNH).

Mother-in-law of Michelle Anekeya, Rose Nyamai, Princess Runyeruka, Ayo Lesi and Phelix Ouma.

Grandmother of Maya Andeso, Nia Ayiro, Liam Saju, Jean-Luc Were, Yanzi Ayoma, Iris Ayoma and Luna Ayoma.

Sister of the late Jedidah Mukabane, Moses Onyino, Mary Maleche, Jason Opati, Wellington Wekhuya, Margaret Lusimba, Kennedy Onyino and Getrude Onyino.

Sister-in-law of Justin Bwakali, Evangelist Esther Bwakali, the late Morris Mukabane, Eliakim Maleche, the late Morris Lusimba, the late Lilian Onyino,Alice Moses, Reverend Mr and Mrs Wakhungu and others.

Aunt of Geoffrey & Janet Kachi, Naomi (Kitale), Wilson (USA), Reath (Nakuru), Moses (KPLC). Shibonje (GDC), Carol (USA), Achesa (USA), Mercy, Patrick, David, Lodel, Joy, Martin,Timothy, James, Kate, Max and others.

Friends and Relatives are meeting daily at the family home in Lubinu and at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, every day from 5.00pm – 8.00pm.

There will be a requiem mass on Tuesday, 18th May 2021, atAll Saints Cathedral Church at 2.00pm, followed by a fundraiser at the same venue.

The cortege leaves Nairobi on Thursday, 20th May, 2021 at 9.00am, for a funeral service at ACK St Paul’s Lubinu at 2.00pm.

An Interment ceremony will be held at her home in Lubinu village, Mumias East Sub-county on 21st May.2021 in adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
