16 April 1964 – 30 March 2020

We celebrate, with thanksgiving, the life of our beloved Solomon Kipruto Koimett (Uncle Kip) who went to be with the Lord on Monday, 30 March 2020 while undergoing treatment in Johannesburg, South Africa for an illness bravely borne with fortitude. Solomon excelled throughout his academic journey and was an alumni of Kipsogon Primary School, where he was among the top CPE students in Kenya, earning himself a place at the prestigious Alliance High School, he then went on to receive his tertiary qualifications at the University of Nairobi and University of Calgary, Canada. Solomon served this country with dedication, passion and patriotism as a public servant in the Office of the President.

Solomon was the son of the Late Tuitoek & Late Teriki, Kipkoimett of Baringo County. Loving and devoted husband of Winnie. Adored father to Kipkoech, Kiptoo, Kimutai, Kiptum, and Chebet. Brother to the Late John and Ruth, Christina and Kebenei, Grace and Reuben, Dr Ezekiel and PS Esther Koimett, Rosemary and Ezekiel and Esau and Pauline.

Solomon was son in law to Jonathan Birir and Late Jane Birir and Naomi Birir. Brother in law to the Late Kosgei, Late Beatrice, Late Rebecca, Peter, Late Eric, Christine, Sarah and Caroline.

As a pillar of the family, friend, mentor and a Church Elder of the Kileleshwa Covenant Community Church, Solomon touched many lives and left an indelible mark in our hearts. In line with the current Government guidance on burials, we will lay our loved one to rest in a private ceremony. We will however hold a public ceremony to celebrate his life at a later date when Government lifts its current guidance.

We will truly miss you Uncle Kip, rest in eternal peace.
