It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Teresiah Mwihaki Wanyungu Gathuo of Kanunga Village, Kiambu, after a long illness bravely borne.

Beloved wife of the late Henry Gathuo Kago of Kanunga Village. Beloved daughter of the late Mzee Charles Gathenya Gichuri and the late Mary Wambui Gathenya of Gathanga Village. Loving mother of the late Patrick Gathenya (Ngegu), Francis Kago (FRANVI), Joseph Mwema, the late Mary Muthoni Mambo, Lucas Gichuri (Ol Kalou),Vincent Kariuki (Gilgil), Lucy Wambui Njoroge, (Kanunga), Prof. Shiko Gathuo (USA), Jane Wanjiru (USA) & the late Richard Kamau. Mother-in-law of the late Rosemary Njambi Gathenya (Ngegu), Virginia Wakonyo Kago (Tigoni), Hannah Wanini Mwema. Professor Augustine Mambo (KU), Nyawira Gichuri (Ol Kalou), Jane Wakanyi Kariuki (Gilgit), Pius Njoroge Kairo.

Sister of the late Esther Wanjiru Muniu, the late Joseph Gichuri, the late Bernard Kamau, the late Michael Gitau, the late Stephen Njoroge, all of Gathanga, the late Karugi Chuhi, Gichuri wa Nyamangu and the late Gichuri wa Njeri both of Gathanga, among many others. Doting grandmother of Hellen Njoki Gathenya, Susan Mwihaki Gathenya, Caroline Mwihaki (USA), Henry Gathuo,Titus Karari, Francis Kago (GM), Paul Mambo (USA), Sylvia Wairimu Mathu, Mwihaki Kariuki Patel, Gathuo Kariuki, Robert Kairo, Mumbi Njoroge, Henry Gathuo, Stanley Kiama, Kari Gathuo, Haki Gathuo, among others, and great grandmother of many.

Family and friends are meeting daily from 4.0Opm at her home in Kanunga, at Francis Kago’s home (Tigoni) and at Vincent Kariuki’s residence (Gilgil) for prayers & funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Nazareth Hospital Mortuary at 9:00am on Thursday 6th September 2018. Requiem Mass will start at I 1.00am at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church Kanunga.

Thereafter, the body will be interred t their Kiamara Farm.
