We the family of Mwalrobiro regret to announce the sudden death of Thomas Gekonge Mokaya (formerly of Nestle Foods Ltd) which took place on 29/07/2022.

Husband to Sophia Nyarangi Gekonge. Father to Whitney Masese of USA and Elton Mokaya (NCC). Grandfather to Mason and Liam.

Son of the late Francis Mokaya Irobiro and the late Lucia Masese. Brother to Patrick Nyagwaya, the late Joseph Marakunga, Agnes Kwamboka Ongere, Samuel Bironga, Philip Irobiro, Pamela Ng’ina Nyabuti, Jackline Kerosi and Felicity Gesare Mining.

His sisters-in-law: Ephisiba Nyagwaya, Clemencia Marakunga, Dr. Sophia Bironga, Martha lrobiro.

Nephew to Nyambane Irobiro, Mokaya Masasi Irobiro, Michira Irobiro, Omae Irobiro, Michira Manguko lrobiro, Kebande Irobiro, Orindo Irobiro, Mongina Morema and Omani Irobiro (all deceased), Keremensia Nyasuguta and Barnabas Otoki.
Cousins: the late Nyabika, the late Ombogo, Oganda, Ogato, Birundu, Nyagwaya, Nyaiguta, Orindo, Kunga, among others. Son-in-law to the late Pastor John Manani and Eucarence Nyaboke. Brother-in-law to David Nduko, Lewis Marongo, Josephine, Eunice, Hellen, Rose and Naomi.

Funeral meetings are going on daily at his rural home near Birongo Market, Mong’oni Nyaigesa Village in Mong’oni Sub-location, Nyankoba Location, Kitutu Masaba Constituency, Nyamira County.

Fundraising for funeral expenses and other logistics is going on.

The body is lying at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary and burial will take place on Friday, 12/08/2022 at his rural home near Birongo Market.
