Tom Getanda

It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Tom Getanda which occurred on 9th February 2019 at Avenue hospital.

Son of the late Mzee Getanda Moya and mama Peris Mokobi. Loving husband of Mellenciah Moraa and father of Norah Bitonga, Wesley Ondara, Ruth Osebe, Joyce Nyakerario, George Nyangoto, the late Askah, Emmaculate Kemunto, Victor Ondari, Peris Mokobi, Elizabeth Mong’are and the late Winnie Kwamboka. Father-in-law of Jared Omwoyo, Eucabeth Sarange, Delvine Kemunto and Francis Were. Brother of Charles Moya, Kwamboka (late), Truphena, Esther and the late Jane. Grandfather of Washington, Askah, Esther, Michuki, Christine, Fred, Victor, Robert, Sylvia, Veronica and Ondari.

In-law (Korera) of Mr. & Mrs. Moses Oketch, the late Omwoyo and Jane Omwoyo, the Monyenyes’ and Mr. & Mrs. James  A  Getich. Nephew of the late Onchiri Nyangoto, the late Onderi, Juma, the late Oigo, the late Opiyo, the late Mongina, Kerubo, Barongo, Esther, the late Gesare and Hellen. Uncle of Judith Moya, Roy, Alex, Christine, Robin, Ruth, Wendy, Ivan, Charity, Sharon, Daniel(late), George, Ondicho (late), Nyamweya and many more others.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at Garden Square at 5 pm.

There will be a fundraising on Tuesday 19th February, 2019 to offset the hospital bill and burial expenses at Professional Centre (Nairobi) starting from 5pm.

The cortege leaves Hema Hospital mortuary at 2 pm on Thursday 2Ist February, 2019 and arrive at home – Magena for an overnight stay.

Burial will be on Friday 22nd February, 2019.
