Veronicah Wairimu Kariuki (Nyina wa Jane/ Kuria)

We, The Kariuki’s announce the passing on of our mum,Veronicah Wairimu Kariuki in her sleep, on the morning of August 3, 2020.

She was the wife to Mr. James Kariuki Kuria of Nairobi and Tumaini Plot 4, Upper Gilgil — Olkalou, Nyandarua County. Mother to Victor Kuria and Alice Rindi, Jane Njeri and Samuel K. Gichuki, Christine Wanjiku, Teresiah Waihuini, Jacinta Gathoni, Margaret Wanjiku and the late Martin VVanglombe. She was the daughter to the late Shadrack Wang’ombe and the late Beatrice Wanjiku; sister to the late Jacinta Gathoni, the late Margaret Njoki, James Kahuthu the late Lucy Wangui, Grace Wanja and John Thuita.

She was the grandmother to Eng. Sue Wairimu, Gerald Gichuki, Vero Wairimu, Sharon Wambui, James Kariuki, Brian Njuguna, Martin Jerome Kariuki, Prince Bethuel Kigondu and Martin Kariuki. She was a sister-in-law to the late Teresiah Waihuini, Stephen Thiga Kuria and Ann Wanjiru, Margaret W. Kinyanjui and John Kinyanjui, Loise Nyambura and John Macharia, Jimmy Kuriah and Esther Muthoni,Alex Macharia (Hinga) and Agnes Wairimu, the late Njora Kuria and Evelyne Wambui, and Joseph Kioria and Faith Wangui. Also sister-in-law to the late Wanjohi, Cyrus Kimondo; Nancy Ruguru, the late Stephen Mwaniki: Boniface Gioko and Ruth Wangui, aunt to many.

A Condolence book has been opened at Ikon Gardens, Muthaiga (near Muthaiga Square, next to Cool Breeze Gardens).

Cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home on August 8, 2020 at 6:30am, followed by final rites at 11:00am, Plot 4, Upper Gilgil Scheme, Tumaini off OlKalou-Nakuru road, Nyandarua County.

She embodied 2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.
