Zaweria Wangui Kinyua  

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our beloved Zaweria Wangui Kinyua, which occurred on 17th July 2021.

Beloved wife of the late Kinyua Kibaki and mother to John Kibaki, Dr Francis Muithui, Jacinta Muchiri, the late Philip Githinji and Catherine Kamau. Mother-in-law to Rose Kibaki, Alice Muithui, Justus Muchiri, Monica Githinji and Joseph Kamau. She was the second child of the late Muithui Iria and the late Wairimu Muithui. Sister to the late Iria Gaturuku, Waweru Gaturuku, Njoki Kariuki, Kamau Muithui, Francis Ngatia and Gerald Kingori.

Sister-in-law to the late Anastacia Wangui Muruthi, the late Philip Muriithi Kibaki, Esther Waitherero Gichuki,the late Bernard Ndiritu Kibaki and H.E. Mwai Kibaki. She was a grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, ‘maitu’ and friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at her home for prayers.

The cortege leaves Nyeri Funeral Home (Outspan Hospital), on Friday 23rd July 2021 at 8.00AM for funeral service at St. Paul’s Thunguri Catholic Church, at 11AM. Thereafter, the body will be laid to rest at her farm in Thunguri village, Othaya sub-county, Nyeri.
