Esther N. Mukuria

It is with deep sorrow, and in humble acceptance of God’s will, that we announce the passing on to glory of Mrs. Esther N. Mukuria, which occurred on Monday 26th December 2022 at The Nairobi Hospital.

Daughter of the late Mr. Karanu Gathogo (Mwalimu) and Mrs. Njahira Karanu of Komothai, Githunguri.

Esther was the beloved wife to the late Walter B. Mukuria, and loving mother to the late Ian Mukuria, Cynthia Nduta Mukuria, Kevin Karanu Mukuria and Denise Mwende Karanu. A doting grandmother to Nduta Mwaura, Githua Mwaura and Wanjiru Mwaura.

A loving sister to Peninah Wanjiru Ngugi & the late Lee Ngugi, the late Ruth Gathoni Wainaina & the late David Wainaina Kiburi, the late Mary Wanjiku Karanu, Grace Wambui Kinyanjui & the late Edward Kinyanjui Chege, Dorothy Njumbi Gitau & the late Joseph Gitau Muchina, Peter Gathogo Karanu, Olivia Waithira Gathogo, the late Francis Kimotho Karanu & Keziah Njeri Karanu, Anne Njeri Waitara & Dr. Ben Waitara, Winnie Nyokabi Mburu & Nicholas Mburu, Hildah Muthoni Mwangi & Mwangi Kihato.

Sister-in-law to the late Julius Ng’ang’a Mukuria & Mrs. Susan Nyambura Ng’ang’a, Mr. & Mrs. Nelson N. Mukuria,Amb. & Mrs. John K. Mukuria, Mr. & Mrs. Wallace P. Munene, Dr. & Mrs. Mundia Wahome, the late Solomon Mburu Mukuria, Mr. & Mrs. Frank Wanjui and Mr. Leonard Machara Mukuria. She has been a cherished aunty, and dear friend to many.

Family and friends will be meeting at St.Andrews PCEA Church (Old Church, behind Church Hall on Wednesday 28th December 2022 and Thursday 29th December 2022 from 4.00pm.

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home on Friday 30th December 2022, and gather for a celebration of life service at St. Andrew’s PCEA Church at 10.00am, after which her remains will be interred at the family gravesite at Lang’ata Cemetery.
