He was a former headmaster of Nyagatugu Primary School and Divisional Inspector of Schools, Mathioya.
Son of the late Dishon Mwangi Karungu and Lizzy Wanjiru Mwangi. Step son of the late Beatrice Nyambura Mwangi.
Husband of Martha Wangui Githinji. Father of Jimnah Karina, Dishon Mwangi (Kianderi Girls’ School) Phyllis Murugi, Lizzy Wanjiru and Stephen Wanjie.
Grandfather of Stacey Wangui, Claire Wachari, Azariah Githinji, Blaise Githinji, Maxwel Githinji, Precious Wanjiku and Princess Wangui.
Brother of Peninah Wangari Mwangi, Milkah Wanja Ndung’u, Dr Stephen Wanjie (JKUAT), Grace Wangari Kamau, Joseph Mbuthia (Ol Kalou) and Pauline Wambui Kinyanjui.
The cortege leaves Murang’a County COuncil Mortuary on Saturday 19th November 2016 at  8am.
Funeral service will be held at ACK St Peter’s Church Nyagatugu.
Buria will follow at his home Nyagatugu village.

The cortege leaves Mukoe Funeral Home Githunguri on Tuesday 22nd November 2016 for funeral sevices at P.C.E.A Kanjai church (to start at I Iam).
The burial will take place at her home in Kanjai Village, Kariamburi near P.C.E.A Kanjai church.

Mother of Silvanus Khamoni (International Casino), the late Rosemary Aoko, Grace Nyongesa (Webuye County Hospital), the late Damaris Auma, Susan Yobera (Bondo County Hospital), Judith Wafula (Lukenya University),Yilma Khamoni (Business man, Busia), Gamaliel Khamoni (Sterling craft), Josephine Maleya (Kenyatta National Hospital), Hon. Pamela Achieng’ (Principal Magistrate, Bomet Law Court), Jane Were (Agriculture and Food Authority), the late Selina Khamoni and Hellen Kinyanjui (Robson Harris & Co. Advocates). She had many grandchildren among whom she raised: Christine, Elizabeth, Beatrice and Tobias as her children. Other grandchildren are Florence, Evelyne, Kenneth, Nathan, Framestad, the late Mark, Rose, Dennis, the late Vianny, Reen,Victor, Bright, Zeruiah, Marvin, Patricia, Angel, Goodluck, Lynn, Alywin, Jason, Janice, Harris and Neema. Family members, relatives and friends are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at her Nairobi home in South C, Soledo Springs Estate and her up country home in Busia, Mayenje.
There will be a fundraising to cater for funeral expenses on 19 November 2016 at Soledo Springs Estate and 20th November 2016 in Busia.
The cortege leaves Tanaka Funeral Home mortuary on 24th November 2016 at 10am for prayers at ACK St. Thomas Mayenje Church starting from 10.30 am and thereafter proceed for an overnight stay at her home in Busia. Burial will take place at her home in Busia, Mayenje Division on Friday 25th November 2016.
