Our family is saddened to announce that on Wednesday, 19th April 2017, at the age of 95 years old, Mrs Susana Wavinya Maliti passed away in Nairobi after a long illness. She was a retired teacher and an active leader in the MC Kangundo Region, over the years.

Wife of late Elijah Maliti Kibwaa. Mother of John & Nduta Maliti, Rev, Dr. Joseph & Elizabeth Kibwaa, the late Hannington & Mary Munyao Maliti, Agnes Mbithe Wambua, Josphine Mueni & Jasper Mutuku Mutiso, Monica & Reuben Mbithi Kiamba, Mary Mbulwa Maliti, Flora Mwangangi and Dr Charles & Rachel Maliti. Loving grandmother and great-grandmother of many. Her surviving siblings include Raeli Muathe of Kitwii, Loise Githinji of Kilimambogo, and Daniel Gachukia of Kandara.

The late Susana will be deeply missed by friends and all members of her family. Friends and family are meeting daily at her home in Kitwii, Kangundo; in Southland Estate, Lang’ata and at Nairobi Baptist Church, Ngong’ Rd on Tuesday, 2 May 2017 from 5:30 – 7:30pm.

Special Fundraising at the Nairobi Baptist Church will be on Wednesday, 3 May 2017 from 5:30pm-7:30 pm.

A memorial service will be held at the Nairobi Baptist Church, Ngong’ Rd on Thursday, 4 May 2017, at 2:00p.m.

The cortege departs from Montezuma Funeral Home at 8am on Friday, 5 May 2017, for burial at her home in Kitwii, Kangundo beginning at 12 noon.

Husband of Joyce Kathure Rukaria, Son of the late Ciomwari & M’Ithara Kamurani. Father of Prof. Margaret Kobia, Dr. Rachel Rukaria-Kaumbutho, Stephen Ntarangwi, Naomi Munyi, Late Nathan Kiogora, Amb. Makena Muchiri, Dr. Emily Kimaku and the late Charles Murithi. Father-in-law of Sibs Kobia, Dr. Gitari Kaumbutho, Grace Mukiri, Gisovi Wa Munyi, Margaret Kiogora, James Muchiri & Dr. Andrew Kimaku. Brother of the late Helen Mwithimbu, the late Stephen M’Ikunyua & the late Charity Karea.

Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday 03rd May 2017 at 2pm at Ridgeways Baptist Church, Off Kiambu Road.

Funeral Service and Burial will take place at his home in Kiirua, Meru on Friday 05th May 2017 from 12pm.

Meetings for funeral arrangements will be conducted as follows: Monday 1st to Thursday 4th May 2017 at MCK Ruaraka Methodist Church off Thika Road, near Roasters Inn. A parallel process will take place from Tuesday 2nd to Thursday 4th May 2017 at the All Saints Cathedral Nairobi and daily at their home, Ntirutu Village, Meru.

The Cortege leaves Kenyatta University Mortuary on Saturday 6th May 2017 for a Funeral Service at Mutionjuri Methodist Church and burial at her home at Ntirutu village later in the afternoon.

The funeral service will be held on the same day at Karindi AIPCA Church at 11.00a.m. There after she will be laid to rest at 2:00pm at her home in Nyakahuho village Karindi Sub-Location, Gikondi location, Mukurwe-ini Sub-County, Nyeri County.
