1st Anniversary

1939 – 2016

Days have turned into a year since that painful moment when you left us for his glory. We endure profound pain in our sorrowful hearts as we miss you dearly.

We are however grateful for the wonderful and blessed years that God allowed us to be graced with your presence and love. MKEZI, you are still so alive and warm in our hearts as the pain and sorrow still lingers on. Your confidence, courage, strength and focus shall forever guide us.

Greatly missed by sons, daughters, brothers, sister, grandchildren, in-laws, other relatives, neighbours, friends and the church.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing on of Mr. Charles Evans Orengo (former operations manager at Care Kenya International) after a long battle with cancer.

Son of the late Orengo Genga and Plista Opoto. Husband of Mrs, Rose Ourna Orengo. Brother of Dr. David Odhiambo Orengo, Anastasia Orengo (the late) and Mrs. Anne Achieng (the late) and many step brothers and sisters.

Father of Mr. Samuel Collins Orengo (professional musician) Mrs Ojow Milly Orengo (Philippines), Dr. Kenneth Orengo (Ministry of Agriculture Livestock & Fisheries), and Mr. Isaac Evans Orengo.

Grandfather of Divan Kyle Ojow (Philippines), Tegan Kenzi Ojow (Philippines), Tyron Evans Ojow (Philippines), Hanifa Adhiambo (Aga Khan School), Najma Achieng (Aga Khan School) Shamsa Awuor,jahmal Mor (Clearview academy), Samara Kwe (Clearview Academy) and Pendo Dalia. Uncle of Senator James Orengo and many others. Father in law of Mrs Lydia Mumbi. Mr. Oliver Ojow (Philippines), Habon Abdilahi Orengo and Lucy Wanjiku.

Family and friends are meeting at his home in Ugunja, Ulumba Village daily for funeral arrangements.

The cortege will leave Sega funeral home in Sega on 16th June 2017 at 3pm to his home Ugunja, Ulumba Village. The burial will be held at his home in Ugunja, Ulumba Village on 17th June 2017.

We the family of the late Mzee Charles Edward Nyabanda, wish to express our most heartfelt gratitude first and foremost to the Almighty God for blessing us with the many years He gave us a husband, a dad and a grandfather.

Our sincere gratitude and appreciation go to our relatives, friends and colleagues for their overwhelming support through prayers, kind words of comfort and encouragement, financial and material contributions during that difficult time.

We give special thanks to the two funeral committees in Nairobi and Maranda village for their commitment which ensured a befitting and dignified send off of our beloved patriarch.

Special thanks go to the doctors and nurses of Avenue Hospital Kisumu and Coptic Hospital Nairobi led by Professor Jowi and Professor Kwasa respectively. We thank them for their care and support during his illness.

We also wish to thank ACK Bondo diocese led by Bishop J.Angela, St. Stephens Maranda church led by Rev. A. Gwela and Rev E. Omollo (Assistant Provost- All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi) for the beautiful services and words of comfort and encouragement you offered our family during this trying period.

Since it is not possible to reach each and every one of you in person, kindly accept this as an expression of gratitude for your valuable support by being there for us during our hour of need and, ensuring that we gave Mzee a befitting send off.

Family and friends have been meeting from Monday the 12th June 2017 for prayers, funeral arrangements and funds raising at Garden Square as from 5 pm, and the main fundraising will be on Thursday 15th June, 2017 at Professional Centre.

The cortege eaves Umash Funeral Home on Sunday 18th June 2017 at .00am and proceeds of Bomokora Village Wanjare South in Kisii County for burial on Monday 19th June 2017.

Which occurred through a tragic road accident along Nyeri – Othaya road at Umbui village, Mahiga location on 6th June 2017.

Husband of Esther Wanjiru Githae. Father of Patrick Kiriro, Susan Wangari, Faith Wanjiku, Irene Wambui, Phillis Wairimu and Caroline Wangui. Son of the late Joseph Kiriro Wagura wa Githae and Susan Wangari Kiriro (Wamuringa). Step-son of the late Jane Wambui Kiriro. Brother of John Maina Taiti, Agnes Wambui, Nancy Wangui and Alfred -Mwangi Ngotho. Step-brother of Wachira Kiriro and Esther Gathoni Kariuki. Grandfather of Lynn Wangui, Peter Wahome, Michelle Wanjiru, Tracy Wanjiru, Nicole Wanjiku, Esther Wanjiru, Nathaniel Obinna among others.

Relatives and friends are meeting daily at his home Kangemi Nyeri from 4:00pm to 7:30 pm for prayer and burial arrangements.

The cortege leaves Mathari Funeral Home Nyeri tomorrow Friday 16th June 2017 at 8:00am followed by a prayer service at P.C.E.A Kangemi Church, Nyamachaki Parish-Nyeri at 10.00am,then proceed to his home Kangemi, Nyeri County where he will be laid to rest.

It’s with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of The Very Reverend Bernard Muindi of Sikuta Farm, Nyeri County.

The Very Reverend Muindi was the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) from 1991-1997. He had deep love for the church, nation, family and great commitment in ministry and mission. He touched the lives of many children through his service to destitute and vulnerable children.

Son of the late Mukindia Njara and Late Grace Kanyua Mukindia.

Husband of Mrs. Eunice Muindi. Father of Tennyson and Anne Muriithi, the late David Muraguri, Anne and Dave Shemenski and Timothy and Serena Muindi. Grandfather of Racquet, Noni, Zack, Makena and Munene.

Loving brother of John M’Rewa, the late Charity Kathure Erastus, Alice Murugi Mukangau, Eliphaz Njue, Mercy Maitha Mutegi, Fredrick Ngige and Catherine Nchuguni Njiru.

Prayers will be held on Friday at 4:00pm and Saturday and Sunday at 3:00pm at the PCEA Ruringu Church in Nyeri County.

The cortege leaves the Nyeri Funeral Home Outspan on Monday June 19th, 2017 at 8.00p.m. The funeral service will be held at PCEA Nyamachaki Memorial Church at 9.00a.m Thereafter, interment will be at the family home in Kathareni (near Chogoria), Tharaka Niithi County.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made towards the construction of the Vocational Training Center under the auspices of PCEA Riamukurwe Parish or the new PCEA Kiriani Chogoria Church building.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our beloved sister, friend and Mother Florence Turyataaha. (Mukama Arinde)

Florence died suddenly on Friday June 16th 2017 at 10 pm. She arrived home after a visit from a family friend and just collapsed and passed away.

Arrangements are being made to take our dear Florence Home.

She is survived by 5 living children and 10 grand children and one great grand child. 
Our desire is to send her home for her children and family to give her a final resting place. Your contributions are extremely encouraged to make this possible.
