Son of late Samuel Karitu and late Grace Ciakuthii. Beloved husband of Eunice Kaari Mutegi. Father of Keith Kinyua,Victoria Karimi,Victor Mugendi and Linet Kawira. Brother of Mary Munari, the late Agnes Ciamati, Charity Mwanjue, Adig Ciankui and Albert Ngai. Father-in-law of RoseWawira Kinyua and Mutegi Mwaniki Karimi. Brother-in-law of Beatrice, Ondaria, Jane, Lucy, Agnes, Catherine, Flora, Kinyua, Muriuki, Ndwiga, late Charity, Margery, Lena, Ngai, Madline and late Musyoka. Grandfather of Makena, Mukami, Mwiti and Mwende. Family and friends are meeting daily at his home Kathitu village, Mukuuni sub-location Chuka and Embu Canaan guest house every day at 5.00pm for funeral arrangements. The cortege leaves Embu level 5 hospital Mortuary on Saturday, 3rd June 2017 at 9.00am, followed by a funeral service at Mukuuni PCEA Church at 11.00am. The burial will take place thereafter at his farm Kathitu village County. location, Meru south District, Tharaka Nithi County.

Mass and burial service will begin at 11.00am at his home, Kyawikyo village, Machakos County.
