Maxwell Gakure Kariuki Thuku

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we regret to announce the death of Maxwell Gakure Kariuki Thuku which occurred on 28th June 2017 at Parklands Nairobi after a brutal murder. He was a fourth year Law student at Mount Kenya University, Parklands.

Son of Joseph Kariuki Thuku formerly of D.T Dobie Mombasa and Elizabeth Kariuki Thuku. Brother of Kevin Thuku Kariuki of ABC Bank, Mombasa. Brother-in-law of Christabel Ochanda Thuku. Uncle of Eli Joseph Kariuki Thuku and many more. Nephew of many uncles and aunties, cousin of many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at the deceased home in Gichanga Estate Nyali Mombasa, Lasco Club Mombasa, Holy family basilica, Nairobi and Kianjege West village, Kirinyaga County, for prayers and burial arrangements.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Mortuary (KU) on 8th July, 2017 at 8.00am. Burial service will follow thereafter at their home in Kianjege West village, Kariti Ward, Ndia Constituency, Kirinyaga County.

It is with humble acceptance to God’s will that we announce t-death of Nancy Matasyo Mengere which occurred on 26th June 2017 after a lengthy spell of illness.

Wife of Anthony Ikahu Mengere (Senaca East Africa Ltd.)  Loving of Justin and Jasmine Mengere (Green Garden School). Daughter of the  late Joakim Matasyo Amalia and Bernadina Matasyo. Daughter -in-law of Mr. & Mrs. Raphael Mengere Ikahu. Sister of Antony Matasyo, Stephen Matasyo, Brigid Savalla, Agrippina Ingesa, Joan Desire, Lillian Matasyo, Mercy Matasyo and Peter Matasyo. Sister-in-law of the late Patrick Ikahu, James Ikahu, Anne Njeri and Mary Wambui.

Family and friends are meeting at Holy Family Basilica on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (3rd, 4th and 5th July) 5.30pm for funeral arrangements and daily at her home in Nyayo Embakasi (Court 782/1) for evening prayers. There will be a fundraiser today,Monday 3rd July at Holy Family Basilica, Cardinal Otunga Hall from 5.30pm.All are welcome.

There will be a requiem mass on 5th July, 2017 at Christ King Church Embakasi at 4.00pm. The cortege leaves Chiromo Mortuary on 6th July 2017 for a funeral service and burial from 9.00am at the family home in Muranga County.

It is exactly four years since you left us but it all seems like yesterday. We really miss you a lot and cherish your memories as we try to do all that you taught us.

The body will be collected from Hema Mortuary on 6th July. Her remains will be interred on Friday 7th July 2017 at Obwoyo village, Kiogoro.

Sister in law of the late Ombui, the late Ondari, late Ayuma. Mother of Pastor Zephania Nyambane of Kakamega, Dr. Thomas Nyamban e (USA), Robert (USA), Callen, florence and late Grace. She was Auntie of Jairus Ombui, Evans Ombui, Sophie Ombui, Ombati Ombui, Jared Ondari, Julius Ondari, Onchiri Ayuma, etc. She was grandmother of Eric, Duncan, Naomi, Rebecca,Timothy, Cyprian, Manduku, Nyaboke, Kelvin, Makoyojapheth, Benard, Caro,Abigael among others. He was a Form 3 student at Gisteel Academy, Munyu, Nyeri and formerly of Endarasha Boys’ High School. Son of Johnson Wamae Mugo and Priscilla Wanjiru Maimba. Brother of Brenda Mumbi of Gatarakwa Girls Sec School, and Mercy Wairima of ViewPoint Junior School-Nyeri. Nephew of Wanja,Wachira (CID Nyeri), Nyawira, Macharia,Wahome of Starbuck Hotel, Waruguru of Karatina, Ann Kimiti (E.H.S), Wambugu,Wangare of KBS, Nyokabi, and Kihara. Grandson of the late Joseph Mugo Thitai and Ann Mumbi of Munyu Village,Charles Maimba and Naomi Wakarima of Qthaya.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at Ebony Meeting Chambers, Tom Mboya Street Nairobi, and at home in Munyu Village, Nyeri. There will be a fundraising to offset the Hospital bill on Friday 7th July, 2017 starting 5pm at Ebony Meeting Chambers and another one on Sunday 9th July 2017 at Munyu Township.
