Caroline is the first-born daughter of the late Marianna Juma and the late Alfred Opoya. She was a guiding light of her siblings Irene, Fredrick and Lilian Opoya.

A devoted wife of Mr. Josphat Indire Kaduka and a loving mother of baby-girl, Arianna Adega Indire.

Daughter in-law of Mr. John Kaduka and Mrs. Bilha Kaduka. Sister in-law of Morrison Murianga,Amoyi and Stephen Kaduka.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Hon. Raphael Machuki Raini which occurred on 20th May 2025 at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital following a short illness.

Hon. Raini was a beloved son of Mzee Machuki Akama (late) and Mama Mosero Okenyuri (late) of Bonyasiaga Village, Kisii County.

He was a brother of Priscilla Ntabo (late), Truphena Nyaboke, Gabriel Onchagwa (late), Abere (late),Arori (late),Akama (late), Nyamache (late), Kwamboka (late) and Lilian. Cousin of Samuel Okworo (late) and Florence Okworo, and Albert Onkundi (late) and Jane Onkundi (late), among others.

At the time of his demise, Hon. Raini was married to Mrs Priscilla Bisieri, and they were blessed with 6 children: Winnie Raini Momanyi, Stella Raini, Lillian Raini Hilkene, Emily Raini Miramond, Jim Eric Ongiri Raini, and Dr. Hilda (Nana) Raini-Igbokidi.

He was a doting grandfather of Jake, Jessica, Philemon, Madison, Savannah, Jim Junior, William, Golda, Eli, and Josephine.

Through this union, Hon. Raini was the son-in-law of Joseph Momanyi Nyambeki (late) and Eucabeth Buyaki Momanyi (late), and Benson Kaburi. Moreover, he was brother-in-law of Elizabeth, Peter and the late Rhoda Onyancha, the late Samuel and Miriam, Maricella, Hellen, Jane and Nancy. Semo of Isaboke, Keganda,Abuga, and Kinara.

Uncle of Irene Osiemo, Maxwell, Douglas, John and Ontiri, Onkundi, Stephen and Chris Aron, Isaac, Reuben and Mishael and Lameck Abere among others.

Long time friend of Peter Magembe, Simon Mauncho, Isaac Ratemo and long-time business partner of the late Mzee Daudi Owino.

He is also survived by his former wife, Mama Anastacia Moraa and her 7 children: Catherine Omweno, Elias Ochako (late), Rosalia Ondari, Veronica Onuko, Pius Nyabuto, Samvvel Nyang’acha (late), and Jackson Akama.

Through these children, Hon. Raini was blessed with the following grandchildren: Timothy, Dr. Dave, Moraa, Meshack, Zipporah, Lilian, Lydia, Mary, Linda, Shem, Michael, Patroba,Aisha, Malaika, Gabe, Mistri, Raini, and Annah. He was also the great grandfather of Nathan, Matthew, Mosero, Hopebon, Jay, Keon, and many others.

He was Korera of Mzee David Moryas (late) and Mama Martha Moryas of Charlotte, North Carolina, the late Hilkenes of New Jersey, USA, the Miramonds of Curbans, France, and the late High Chiefs Mr. Joseph Igbokidi and Dr. Mrs. Josephine Igbokidi of Abor, Enugu, Nigeria. He was also Korera of Omweno (late), Ondari (late), and Onuko (late).

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital on Thursday, 19th June, 2025. According to his will, Hon. Raini will be buried on Friday, 20th June 2025 at his home in Bonyasiaga Village. Nyangusu, Kisii County.

He was the beloved father of Georgina Gakii Mugambi, Jacqueline Wanjera Mugambi, and Stephen Kirimi Mugambi, and a cherished grandfather of five grandchildren.

Mzee Mugambi was the loving husband of the late Rosemary Njoki Kamau.

He was son of the late Thiginki M’iria and the late Grace Umutho, and step-son of Brighit Kiburo (alive). He was a brother of the late Josephat. the late David Mbae,Ashford Kinyua (alive), the late Alexander Kinyamu, the late John Michelin Mary Kaimuri (alive), the late Karim’ Thiginki, Doris Kathambi (alive), and Kainyu Thiginki (alive).

Daily funeral arrangement meetings are being held at Stadium (near his residence) and at Tononoka Nursery School from 5:00 PM.

A memorial service will be held at Tononoka Fountain of Life Church on Wednesday, 18th June 2025. The body will be removed from Jocham Funeral Home, Mombasa on the same day.

The burial will take place on Thursday, 19th June 2025, at Meru Igoji.
