It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Benard Gathogo Kang’oro of Gichecheni, Muthiga.

He was son of the late Naftali Kang’oro and the late Nancy Wairimu Kang’oro, a step son of the late Loise Njeri Kang’oro, and brother of the late Humphrey Kaiguara Kang’oro.

He was husband of Leah Wairirnu Kang’oro, father of Violette Nyokabi Kihanya, Dorothy Ng’endo Kang’oro, the late Oscar Kang’oro and Alice Wanjiru Gathogo. He was father in law of Joseph Kihanya, Salome Njeri Kang’oro and Majahezansi Ngcobo. He was grandfather of Anna,Adrian,Alena, Jabari and Jelani.

Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at his home on Kang’oro Road, off Muhuri Road, every evening from 4 pm.

There will be a memorial service on Sunday 15th June 2025 at 3 pm, at his home.

A celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday 7th June 2025 at 11:00 an at his home.

She was the daughter of Lucy Muthoni Kimenchu and Stephen Kimenchu Mungania.

She was the beloved wife of the late Henry Mwaura Mburu. Doting mother of Stephen Munene Mwaura and Naomi Muthoni, Beatrice Wambui Mwaura and Mark Edwin Mathenge. Nancy was grandmother of Stephanie Mugure Munene, Steven Mwaura Munene and Milan Muthoni.

Friends and family are meeting daily at 6:00 pm at their family residence in Lang’ata.

There shall be a memorial service on Sunday 15th June, 2025 at PCEA Langata at 2:00 pm. The cortege shall leave Montezuma and Monalisa funeral home along Mbagathi road on Tuesday, 17th June,2025 at 07:00 am for burial at their home in Ngaiini village, Mathira west Subcounty, Nyeri County.

There will be a funeral service on 15th June 2025 at Karengata SDA Church opposite Galleria mall at 2.00pm.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Monday 16th June 2025 for an overnight spend at Gakwegori Funeral Home in Embu. There will be assembly at Gakwegori Funeral Home on 17th June 2025 at 9.00am and cortege will depart at 9:30am for burial ceremony at their home in Karurina ltabua, Embu.

BIRTH/ EARLY CHILD LIFE

Christine Kwamboka was born on August 2, 1989 In Boglakumu Sub-location, Bonchari, Kisii County. She was the firstborn child of the late Mzee Innocent Onyancha and Mama Elizabeth Omwega. She grew up in a loving Christian home alongside her four siblings: Rebecca, Dickson, Joan, and Vincent.

EDUCATION

Christine began her education at Bogiakumu Primary School in 1994 till 2003. She then proceeded to Ekerubo Secondary School from 2004 till 2007. Christine later enrolled in a secretarial course at St.Judy College in 2008, where she completed her secretarial certification.

BAPTISM

In 2013, she was baptized at Kitengela SDA Church, Kajiado county affirming her commitment to her faith.

WORK EXPERIENCE

She began her professional career as a clerk at Masai Group, where she worked from 2014 to 2020. Afterward, she ventured into small-scale business, becoming a respected businesslady.

MARRIAGE

On April 10, 2010. she got married to Danvas Gwaro. Their union was blessed with two beautiful children: Giftannah (13 years old) and Jimmicent (7 years old), both of whom she dearly loved and nurtured with grace.

ILLNESS

Christine started feeling unwell in March 2023 with symptoms of abdominal pain and stomach obstruction. After several tests, she was diagnosed with gastric cancer in August 2023. She started treatment immediately, first at Coptic Hospital, and later at Meditest and Kenyatta Hospitals. She was cleared from Kenyatta hospital to travel to the United States of America ( USA).
Upon arrival in USA in January 2025, she started feeling unwell and checked into John Peter Smith (JPS) Hospital for further evaluation. It was determined that the cancer had unfortunately relapsed. She resumed treatment at JPS Hospital until end of March 2025. On April 15th 2025 her condition worsened when her blood pressure dropped. She was rushed to Methodist Hospital in Mansfield where she continued to receive treatment. Despite all efforts, she peacefully rested on May, 28th 2025 at 7.13am.

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Millicent Atieno Amach Thumbi on Thursday 5th June 2025 at the Nairobi Hospital after a short illness.

She was the daughter of the late Linus Douglas Amach and the late Munde Koga Domitilla.

Millicent was the loving wife of Silvester Thumbi Ngatia (Brookside Ltd) and loving mother of Trevor Ngatia Thumbi (Starehe Boys Centre) and Tamar Wanjiru Thumbi (Alliance Girls High School).

She was a loving sister of Caroline, Hellen, Kennedy, John, Grace, John Aluoch, Pauline, Angela and the late Jack.

She was the cherished daughter in law of Rtd WO I Charles Ngatia Thumbi and Agnes Wanjiru Ngatia and a beloved sister-in-law of Onesmus, John and Tess, Jacinta and Francis, Alfred and Joan, Winnie and Emma.

She was an employee of M-Gas.

Millicent will be remembered for her kindness, strength and joyful nature and love for her family and friends. Relatives and friends of the family have been meeting at The August 7th Memorial Park (Bomb Blast) and are today meeting at their home in Kasuku, Olojororok daily starting 5.30pm.

The cortege leaves KU Referral Hospital on Friday 13th June 2025 at 5:30am and the funeral service will be held in Kasuku, Olojororok Nyahururu at the Thumbi Home, commencing 10.00am, same day.

Born on 21st May, 1981. Christine was the first born child of Charles N. Ontita & Teresa Kerubo Nyamari N. Ontita & Mary Wanjiru Ontita.

She was Sister of Lydia M. Ontita, Jared N. Ontita, Maureen N. Ontita, Brian 0. Ontita, Victor M. Ontita, June N. Ontita, Collins M. Ontita, & Grace W. Ontita.

She has left behind the father of her Children Fred Livumbatzi Mwange and was a loving mother of Leon L. Mwange and Terryann Kageha.

Aunt of Jaya Kwamboka, Adrian Nyaundi, Aldan Steve, Amygwen Kazira,Abigael Kabura, and Many others.

The Cortege will leave Umash Funeral home Nakuru on Thursday 12th June 2025, for a Requiem Mass and an overnight stay at her Nakuru residence. On 13th June 2025, the burial rites will begin with a requiem mass at St. Augustine Catholic Church Grounds Kiamunyi, followed by the interment, the same day at her residence.

The Lord gave us this jewel and the Lord has called her to eternity. May His name be glorified.

It is with profound shock and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Veronica Kenanda Matoke Achoki, which occurred on Friday, May 6th, 2025, at Coptic Hospital.

Veronica was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Matoke Achoki. She was a loving mother of Ruth, Areba, Edna (Kioge Primary School), Isaac (Vmart Hardware), Rebecca (RBK), Fr Edward Matoke (Missionaries of Marian Hill), Enock (Kenya Police), Elizabeth (Nursing Council) Susan, Maxwel (KDF), Eric and Moraa (AG office).

Daily planning meetings are currently being held at Kamulu, Nairobi, and at her Maagonga Home.

A fundraising meeting to offset funeral expenses will be held on Tuesday, June 17th, 2025, at the Professional Center from 5:00 PM.

The burial will take place on Friday, June 20th, 2025, at her Magoonga home in Nyamira County.

Burial will be held on Friday, 13th June, 2025 at his home – Nyansakia 2 Village, Gucha Sub- County, Kisii County along Omoringamu-Sengera road, off the main Kisii-Kilgoris road.
