It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing on of Jerusa Apiyo Otieno, which occurred following a tragic road accident on July 11,2025, around Suswa area, Narok County.

Jerusa was the beloved daughter of the late Mzee Aron Ochumba and Mama Caren Agutu of Kisegi Wakula. She was a daughterin-law of the late Mzee Bagaka Outa, Priscila, Rispa, and Unita. She was a co-wife of Susan and Janet.

Jerusa was a loving wife of Mzee Jobagaka Otieno and mother of Pilly Joyce, Joseph Jobagaka, Ivy Alele, Seth Hibrahim, Ridhia Roselyne, and Radhia Magdalyne. She was the mother-in-law of Sammy Minyiri of Migori. Her grandchildren are Phillip, Junior, and Babra.

She was a sister of Hon. Joseph (MCA), the late Diana, Mary Aron, the late Jacky, and Sarah. Other siblings are John, Elijah, Josiah, George, Joanah, Walter, Ezekiel, Amb. Siongoh, Dkt. Ominde, Miriam, Ruth, Rebecca, Margaret, and the late Daniel and the late Esther.

Her cousins are David Odindo, Erick Odindo, Agwaro Okebe, Ruth Esther, Julius, and Okal. She was a sister-in-law of the late Maurice Amisi,Tobias Odoyo, the late Elisha Outa among others.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at St. Camilus Mortuary, Sori, Migori County.

Burial service will be held on Friday 1st August 2025 at Pundo Village, Kiabuya Sub-location, Gwassi Central Location, Suba South.

She was the daughter of the late Paul Wambugu Kariamburi and the late Eliza Muthoni.

She was wife of the late Paul Kiambo. Loving mother of the late Wanjiku Kiambo and Muciri Kiambo.

She was also the sister of the late Grace Wanja Kimotho, the late Rose Nyarnathira Mbuki, Gerald K Wambugu and late Charles Maina Wambugu.

She was a beloved aunt of Eddy Mwangi and many others. She was also an adored cousin to many.

Jose was a UK trained midwife and worked most of her professional life at Coast General Hospital in Mombasa.

Viewing of the body shall take place on 30th July 2025 at 8.00am at Kibugi Funeral Home in Kutus town after which the funeral procession shall proceed to Kamugunda Village PCEA Emmanuel Church, Thumaita, Nyangeni Parish for the funeral service which shall start at 10.00am. George was the cherished father-in-law of Ruth Muchai, and George Okoth, and a dotting grandfather of Zayne, Yvan, Shani and Rarni.

George was the brother of Mary Kefa, Samuel Muniu, Jane Wamuita, Peter Wanderi, James Muniu, Peter Mwaura, Elder Patrick Muchai, Bishop John Kanyari, Pastor Julius Kamau, the late James Muniu, Jackson Thuo and seven sisters.

He was the son-in-law of the late Phares Thumbi Wambari, the late Beth Nyakihiu Thumbi, the late Margaret Wahu, and the late Mary Kanyi. He was a treasured brother-in-law of the family of Thumbi Wambari, a dotting uncle to his nieces and nephews, and a loving cousin to many.

She was the wife of the late Stephen Mwangi Waita, who was Senior Assistant Chief of Kamukabi Sub-location.

She was the mother of Elizabeth Wambui; Charity Wanjiru; Hannah Njeri; Peter Njuguna, formerly of Njiiri High School; Josphat Karimu, also known as Waita; Samuel Wabui Mwangi, also known as Wa Visa; Lucy Nyambura; Lydia Njoki; and Jane Wanjiku.

She was mother-in-law of Peter Kamau, Andrew Kamau, Esther Njeri Njuguna, Patricia Nyambura, Jane Warnbui and David Ngotho.

She was the sister of John Mwangi Njuguna, also known as Kibuuba; the late Mary Wanjiru Mwangi; and the late Wabui Gichuhi.

She was blessed with long life to be able to see her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are meeting at her home in Gikoe Village daily for prayers and to organize i for her send-off.

Funeral program will start at 8.00 am on Monday, 28/07/2025 at Montezuma ‘Monalisa Funeral Home Kabati Kenol where the body is lying. The funeral ceremony will follow at the compound of AIPCA church Gikoe at 10.00am,  `followed by internment on her farm at Gikoe Village.
