It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Retired Mwalimu Thomas Kimagut Ngeny, who went to be with the Lord on 1st August 2025 while undergoing treatment at Aga Khan Hospital.

Born in 1943 in Kabuson Village (Tugen), Koyo Hills, Nandi South to the late Joseph Cheramei Chepkwony, the late Anna Tabunei and late Rebecca Jemesunde. He was the second-born in a large and loving family. He is fondly remembered by his siblings: the late Isabella, Dorcas, Solomon. Lena, Elizabeth, Emily, Petro, Kiptogom, the late Kimaiyo, and Jernatia.

He was a cousin and uncle to many.

He was a devoted husband of Sally Jelagat Ngeny, and they were blessed with children: Beatrice (EAC -Arusha), Cheruiyot (Business), Janet (MTRH), Kirwa (KPA), Diphyna (Business), Kipkemboi (Farmer), Chris Mitei (Business), Vincent (Ausi), Jepleting (Ausi), and Kevin (KeNHA – Corridor B).

He was a cherished father-in-law of the late Tecla, Caroline (Coca-cola), Ruth (UG County), Eunice (Nganiat Pri), Carolyne (Jamhuri High), and Constance (Aussie) and to Joseph Rona, Abraham Malel and Eng.Wilson Kosgey (KRB).

He was a loving grandfather of Pam, Purity, Paula, Brian, Faith, Caren, Walter, Emmanuel, Elsa, Alisha, Abby, Abel, Cayln, Damian, Kimberly, Patience, Pravin, Valarie, Victor, Vivaan, Glenda, Ayden, Azaniah, Adriel, Adel, Jayden, Shane, and a proud great-grandfather of Tiffany.

A funeral service will be held on 12th August 2025 at AIC Milimani from 2:00 pm and a fundraiser thereafter from 5:00pm to help the family offset hospital and burial expenses.

Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and arrangements in Nairobi and Ng’aniat where a fundraiser is being held parallel to the one in Nairobi.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan Hospital on 14th August 2025, with burial on 15th’ August 2025 at his home in Kapseret (Ng’aniat).

He was a loving husband of Susana Chemutai Chepkwony. Father of Henry (Taiwet Tea Factory), the late George, Clara (Sotik) and Lynette (USA).

He was the beloved husband of Tabitha Muthio Mwanzia. Loving father of Kavutha & Jacob Asiyo, Kasyoka, Kamene & Oscar Wayoboya, Kavinya & Franklin Omondi. He was a doting grandfather of Bryan Obuna, Jason Mwanzia, Michelle Adia Mutheu, and Ker Omondi. He was a beloved brother, uncle and friend to many.

Umau Mwanzia touched the lives of many through his kindness, wisdom and unwavering support.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing on of Lucy Wanjiku Wanjohi, formerly of the Parliament of Kenya on 1st August 2025.

Lucy was the beloved wife of Charles Wanjohi and a devoted mother of Mark Muriuki, Joan Wairimu and Joshua Wachira. She was a loving mother-in-law of Margaret Mukami and a doting grandmother of Ethan and Ivan.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Joshua Wachira Mbataru and Susan Gathigia, and daughter-in-law of the late Stephen Muriuki and the late Priscah Mumbi Muriuki.

Lucy was a dear sister of Angela Kamenju, Margaret Muthoni, Antonella Wamuyu, Anne Wangechi, Peter Wachira, Francis Mathenge, Joseph Ngure, the late Caroline Wachira and Thuguri Wachira, She was also a treasured aunty, sister-in-law, cousin and friend to many.

Family and friends are gathering daily at 6.30PM at her home in Kahawa Sukari to offer condolences and make funeral arrangements.

A requiem mass will be held on Thursday, 7th August 2025 at 2.00PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Kahawa Sukari.

It is with heavy heart that the Society Leader of St. Patrick’s Missionary Society announces the death of Fr. Oliver Barry which occurred on Thursday 31st July 2025 at the Nairobi Hospital.

Until his death Fr. Oliver was ministering at Christ the Redeemer Kapsoya Catholic Parish in Eldoret.

Son of the late Michael and Margaret from Cork, Ireland. Brother of late John and Ann Martin. Brother-in-law of Carmel and Ged Martin. Uncle of Hugh.

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home for St. Augustine Catholic Church Kiamunyi in Nakuru (Jr) Thursday 7th August 2025 for Requiem Mass at 11:00 am. The burial will take place the same day at the Society Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
