It is with great sorrow, sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) Board of Directors, Management and staff announces the untimely demise of Samuel Wakori Kubai, which occurred on 12th September, 2025 after a long illness. The late before his death, was working at Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI)- Central Highlands Eco-Region Research Programme (CHERP)- Muguga.

He was son of Elijah Kubai and Hannah Wanjeri of Kabocha Village, Kabete Sub County.

Husband of Mary Nduta Wakori.

Son-in-law of the late George Kamunge and Ruth Njeri of Githunguri Village, Kabete Sub County.

Married to Loise Wanjiku and were blessed with Hannah Wanjeri and Mary Wambui. He later married Mary Nduta Wakori and they were blessed with Elijah Kubai, George Kamunge, Joshua Muigai and David Mwaniki.

Father-in-law of Samuel Karanja and Ken Mureithi.

Grandfather of Alvin Kung’u Karanja, Jayden Wakori Karanja, Adeline Wanjiku Karanja, Godwill Wakori Mureithi and Gianna Nkatha Mureithi.

Brother of Tabitha Wanjiru (Githiga), Joshua Muigai, Grace Wanjiku (Nyathuna), Jane Nyacuma (Kahuho), Stephen Njau, and Priscilla Wanjiru.

Family and Friends are meeting daily at his residential home at Ngecha, (Gitangu)(Free town)- Limuru- for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege will leave PCEAThogoto Mortuary on Friday 19th September, 2025 for funeral service and interment at his home in Limuru-Ngecha (Free town).

Her siblings are the late William, Dr. Simon of Wilco pharmacy, Dr. Elizabeth of Bondo Referral Hospital and Brian of Acela Medical Centre.

Sister in-law of Molly, Maureen, Patrick Ombija, Geoffrey, Fred wekesa among others.

Her nieces and nephews are Basil, Emmanuel, Dr. Paul, Achieng, Joy, Ednah, William, Fredrick, Bernice, Angel, Mary, Simon junior, Andrew Among others. Cortege leaves Agakhan Hospital Mortuary on 18/9/2025. She will be laid to rest on 19/9/2025 at her home in Manyonge A village, Near Manyonge Primary School, Bondo Sub county.

Peter was a devoted family man whose greatest joy was in loving, guiding, and providing for those dearest to him. He cherished his role as a husband, father, brother, and friend, and his home was always a place of warmth, care, and generosity. His unwavering commitment to family values remains an enduring legacy for generations to come.

Fr. Fernando Jimenez, Priest of the Prelature of Opus Dei and Chaplain of Kianda School, peacefully departed this life into God’s presence on Saturday, 13th September 2025 at Aga Khan Hospital.

Son of the late Juan Jimenez and the late Cipriana Fernandez, of Murcia, Spain. He was the last born of five brothers and two sisters.

Fr. Fernando will be dearly missed by his family in Spain, the Regional Vicar of Opus Dei in Kenya, the faithful and co-operators of Opus Dei in Kenya, the Kianda School Community and in all the other countries where he served, and all who knew and loved him so much.

A Requiem Mass to pray for the repose of his soul will be held at the Kianda. School chapel on Thursday, 18th September 2025 at 3:00pm.

There will be a funeral wake at the Strathmore School chapel, Lavington on Thursday, 18th September 2025 from 6:00pm.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Holy Family Basilica on Friday, 19th September 2025 at 10:00am followed by interment at the Langata Cemetery,

She was the daughter of Harrison Musau and Florence Katheu. Wife to David Kinyua Waweru.

She was a sister to Grace Nthenya, Susan Ndungwa, John Mutua & Gladys Mwongeli.

She was the mother of Talia Mumbe & Mark Waweru

Relatives and friends are meeting daily at their Joska home, Mavoko Sub-County, Machakos County, from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.

Loving husband of Josephine Njeri Kimani. Father of Antony Mwangi, Michael Kibiro, David Kariuki, and John Maina.

Brother of Rachael Nyambura Njuguna, Naomi Wanjiku Kibiro, Jesee Kariuki Kibiro, the late Josephine Mukami Kibiro, Charles Gathungu Kibiro, the late Geoffrey Mugo Kibiro, Margaret Wanjiru Kibiro, Monicah Wagikuyu Kibiro. and Jane Wambui Kibiro. He was a devoted grandfather to many.
